SEA Eagles star Jamie Lyon will attend the grand final of the rugby league competition named in his honour at Brookvale Oval tomorrow.

St Paul’s College and Narrabeen Sports High will

fight out the decider of the Jamie Lyon Cup, a competition for year seven students on the peninsula.

And with no fanfare the Sea Eagles co-captain takes an active role in the tournament.

“He gets down every week and helps out a different team which is good,” said NRL Game Development Officer Tim Gee.

The competition has been running for five years and this year involved school sides from Pittwater, Barrenjoey Mater Maria, Davidson, Balgowlah Boys, Narrabeen and two from St Pauls.

Four games were played three different venues each Thursday afternoon in term two two culminating in tomorrow’s final.

“There is some quality football being played at that age and some really good schoolboy talent coming through,” Gee said.

St Pauls are chasing back to back titles when they take on Narrabeen.

“They will take some beating as well,” Gee said.

“They are not the biggest team but their one on one tackling and their catch pass and draw and pass skills are really good for that age group.”

The game kicks off at 3.45pm with two twenty minute halves before Lyon presents the cup to the winners.

This would've occured this arvo then...?

What a thrill and massive bonus for winning their comp.

Well done to Killer. Too often these things go unnoticed or uncredited.

Has there been any reasonable explanation for Killer (and Kingdog's) shaved noggins??

LOL.

Well done for everything else!

What impresses me is that I doubt Killer would care at all about getting credit for doing this. He just does it (as do a lot of Manly players).

Great stuff. This is how to get the next generation wanting to play for Manly.
