Fullback Brett Hodgson has been cleared to play for the Wests Tigers in Sunday's NRL match against Manly at Leichhardt Oval. The Tigers skipper will return a week earlier than expected after injuring his hand in the round six win over Cronulla three weeks ago. Coach Tim Sheens said Hodgson will replace 18-year-old fullback Shannon McDonnell in the side. "But it may cause a couple of others changes too," Sheens said, hinting hooker Robbie Farah, who has been named at halfback, may likely spend time at rake with Hodgson pushed up into the halves. "It's very good news for the side having Brett back, he's a quality player, and the captain of the side, so I'm pleased to have him back." Sheens said the Tigers will wait until Saturday to decide whether New Zealand stars five-eighth Benji Marshall and centre Paul Whatuira will be fit to back up against the Sea Eagles after playing in Friday's Test versus Australia. © 2006 AAP
