JAMIE Lyon is set for a fabulous season if his performance against the Tigers is any indication. Lyon showed the captaincy tag didn’t overload his game as he turned in a magnificent all-round performance in the 26-22 loss.
Sea Eagles legend and Australian selector Bob Fulton was full of praise for Lyon. “He was the best on the field in a quality game of football. Every aspect of his game was excellent and he deserved to walk off a winner,” Fulton said. Lyon returns to his former home ground at Parramatta Stadium in a Sunday afternoon blockbuster between the arch rival clubs. He expects nothing less than a hostile reception. “I would be disappointed if they didn’t give it to me,” Lyon said. ***** Manly have a legitimate right to complain in my opinion and the manner in which they have stated their case impressed me. “I will talk to Matt Callandar who represents Channel Nine in the match-day allocations and I’m certain Manly will appear,” Crawley said. Crawley explained the process in which games are allocated. Channel Nine get the Friday night choices from which one game must involve Brisbane, North Queensland or the Gold Coast for Queensland viewers. That leaves Fox with the next choice for Monday night before Nine get the Sunday allocation. Meanwhile, Manly are fast becoming Monday night regulars with the round six game against Melbourne (away) and the round seven game against the Gold Coast Titans (home) both on Monday night football. ****** Williams dived for a ball with his right arm outstretched during warm-up and dislocated his shoulder. “Wolfman” will attempt to strengthen the shoulder in the eight weeks of rehabilitation before attempting a comeback.
