IT might be his final appearance at Brookvale Oval but Manly enforcer Josh Perry is refusing to contemplate the end of the road.

"I've made no plans for trips away or anything yet - we're just zoning in on being there in that first weekend of October," Perry told The Sunday Telegraph.

It could be argued Perry's comeback from a serious leg injury this week could not be more fitting or timely.

The match, against the Bulldogs, is more than just a farewell to his home ground of three seasons.

It's the Sea Eagles' biggest game of the year.

"There's no ifs or buts, we have to win this game," Perry said matter-of-factly.

"It's a massive game, my last home game at Brookie, but more importantly we've really got to win it to make sure we are in the semis.

"It couldn't be a better way to get back into it."

Perry suffered a freakish dislocation in his fibula that originally left Manly officials fearing he'd played his last game in the maroon and white.

"They thought I had definitely broken my fibula, but they didn't tell me that at the time," he said.

"Now I know they were worried, but they were really good to me. They didn't let it get to me too much.

"Along with the morphine, I was in a pretty good place.

"And when I woke up and saw the specialist the next day he told me I would be right for the semis ... I was stoked."

Born and bred in Newcastle, Perry arrived at Manly after seven seasons with the Knights.

At the time it was the toughest decision of his career. Looking back, he now calls it his greatest.
