THERE were no tackle bags in sight. No footballs flying about, no Sea Eagles raising a sweat.

Coach Des Hasler was not blowing his whistle, instead mixing it up with reporters, giving his thoughts on the story of the day.

It was not your normal morning at the Sydney Sports Academy in Narrabeen on Tuesday morning. Then again, it never really is straight-forward when it comes to the Sea Eagles.

Players drifted about, given the day off to play putt-putt golf at nearby Warriewood, before the team slowly gets back on the paddock tomorrow.

Josh Perry and Jamie Buhrer faced the press, in a relaxed mood, daring to dream they can sting the Dragons at Kogarah on Sunday.

“I’m one of the fitter ones, I’m ready to go,” Perry assured the gathering.

“If we can get up and running, it definitely could be one of the better wins for the club.”

Buhrer, unfamiliar with these proceedings, calmly stood back before he too boldly suggested this battered Sea Eagles outfit is ready to bring down the minor premiers.

“Whatever team we put on the paddock, I’m sure it will be a good one,” the 20-year-old said. “It will do the club proud and will be a chance of beating them.”
