MANLY rookie Kyle Lodge has been rushed to hospital after his car was hit by a bus when he was on the way to training about 8am.

Lodge was on the way to training at Dee Why when it is believed a bus ran a red light and rammed his car. Teammates Anthony Watmough and Daly Cherry-Evans were travelling in convoy behind Lodge and are understood to have helped pull the promising Sea Eagles centre from his crumpled car. Lodge was in line to be selected for Manly's round one clash with Melbourne on Saturday night, with experienced centre Steve Matai still suspended. The Manly Daily is reporting Lodge is believed to be conscious but suffered a shoulder injury.
