OK, heard this one on the weekend didnt believe it at first. 

Who was the host of the first ever episode of "Countdown" (ie ABC music show).??

Hint this is Manly related.

Molly was not the first host, he just did Molly's spot or whatever it was called. Can't remember who it was - was a heck of a long time ago, though we were the dominant club of that era.

Molly's section was Humdrum and he rambled on in an incoherent fashion. I still remember where he spoke to Prince Charles and told him that he had seen his mum on television. That set the Fleet St press off.

My guess is that Grant Goldman, 2SM dj of the time was the host of the first Countdown - if not him it could have been Ross Wilson, though I doubt that he is a Manly supporter, though he has an obvious Eagle connection.

Well CW you are right - it was Grant Goldman but he was actually on radio in Melbourne at the time.

Molly took over later and I believe Daryl brathwaite was also before Molly
