    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

I'm trying not to let my bias towards Manly make me take sides but I do think Mestrov is thinking sensibly when it comes to Josh. If they can't reach an amicable agreement i think it could make other clubs even more wary than they are now. If they do reach a monartary agreement on the basis...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

A few people on here have compared Josh to Olsen Filipaina and as an older rugby league fan I reckon that's pretty close to the mark. I remember Filipaina having unbelievable ballplaying skills and he could turn a game in an instant. But I also remember him bouncing between firsts and reserves...

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I'm a believer because I think the team now looks like they're playing for each other and not just with each other, and you need that bond to go to the next level when things get tough. Also, apart from the Schu dilemma I'm reasonably happy with recruitment, Brooks is fitting in and Browns...

    2025 recruitment & retention

I get a bit peeved when I hear players telling coaches where they want to play and I actually applauded Shane Flanagan for his actions when Lomax tried to start calling the shots. Same thing with Reuben (who i really like) I don't think any player should be bigger than the club or the team.

    2025 recruitment & retention

I have absolutely no idea who's worth what but I'm guessing both Brown and Lodge aren't on big money and they made need upgrades in 25 if they continue to produce this year. Hopefully, we still have enough to entice an up and comer with plenty of upside. Again, it's early days but it's nice to...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

He'd have to have performance clauses built into his current contract because I remember Cherry and Seibs making vague insinuations that Josh needed to train harder last year. Also, Mestrov seems like a pretty smart operator to me and the warning signs were already there, I mean even us...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Maybe I'm reading to much into it, but it's quite telling that the Dragons haven't made a play for Josh, I mean they have plenty of cap space coming up with the departure of Lomax plus Flanagan would have seen plenty of Josh last year. I hope the club does have a clause in his contract because...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

I'm surprised the Telegraph didn't lead with "Schu gets the boot for being a loafer" On a serious note, it's hard to be too critical, he never brought the club into disrepute for being a dickhead and he was never a cheapshot merchant. I think he's just a young bloke who lost his way and maybe...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Lomax is accepting less money to go to another club and if Josh realises he won't be playing first grade again at Manly he might take a voluntary paycut to move to another club. He doesn't necessarily hold all the aces.

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

I think we've got enough strike in the team to cover for the loss of Josh, both Burbo and Waddell can adequately slot into the back row. There's heaps of people on here with much more footballing nous than me but I'd love to see some of that money directed towards a top class winger.

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Putting emotion aside, this is going to take some manoeuvring to minimise the hit on our cap. It's early days but Josh may decide to take time away from the game or perhaps a stint in England for a fresh start. Either way I wish him all the best in the future. I just hope he has enough respect...

    Waddell - a pleasant surprise

I think Seibold deserves some credit for creating a good culture within the playing group. I don't think I've seen Waddell playing better and Brown is really putting his hand up. It's still early days but if Lodge comes back with a similar attitude we may be in with a shot at the big one.

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Players are 100% entitled to their privacy, but I'm pretty sure the general footballing public would be even more supportive of Josh's situation if it is indeed a mental health concern. In all honesty It's hard to know what to think.

Does Burbo cement a Top 17 spot in 2023 ?

I can sort of understand why people feel that Burbo isn't anything special and they question his place in the top grade, but I still think he can mature into a good player. I just get the impression he's still the kid brother and he isn't quite yet his own man. Whether that means he needs more...

    The fairytale is over

When I looked at our draw at the start of the season I thought, I'd be happy for us to be 3 from 6 as long as we were building. Truthfully, the loss to st merge dented my confidence a bit and although it's not desperation stakes just yet, the next fortnight will probably show us the true...
