    Manly v Brisbane 26/7/2003 Rd 20

Although I believe the comeback game you're refering to was in 2005.

Anthony Seibold - Manly coach. "Official"

Lots on here were saying Des 2.0 would only end in tears. I had hoped both Des and Penn had learnt from past mistakes but I guess leopards don’t change their spots.

Wow, I never knew that. Rowdy became a bit of a journeyman after leaving us.. so it makes sense I guess.

    Post-Game Discussion Raiders v Manly [Round 24, 2022]

Y Yes, agree. That defensive stat which was only marginally better than Wests in 1999... is very sad indeed. Let's not forget, even the great Bozo lost 7 straight to start the '99 season before handing over the reigns to Sharp.

Was Cliff Lyons' 300th for Manly actually his 303rd?

Was thinking the same thing. Talk about sacrilegious to the Beaver. The only way that could have happened was if Souths and Norths merged, leaving Manly out on their own. Anything was possible in those times.

Was Cliff Lyons' 300th for Manly actually his 303rd?

While we're on a nostalgia train, I was recently viewing old pages from the legendary supporter's website - One Eyed Eagle - using the Wayback Machine. Old timers would remember it fondly. A poll was asked late in '99 on whether Manly fans supported the merger with North Sydney. A staggering 69%...

Was Cliff Lyons' 300th for Manly actually his 303rd?

Thanks mate. Legend! I was wondering whether or not that Wigan counted, but as this table suggests, it was 309 games for Manly in the NSWRL/ARL/NRL. And even if the statisticians did count that Wigan game, his 300th would still been 2 weeks prior to the Wests game - against Melbourne. The...

Thanks for this mate. I knew someone on here would have an old newspaper clipping or something. I still think in this case Zorba was wrong.
