    Generic thread title.

RE: Choc 'forced' out of Manly - family gutted And this is where player managers are a blight on the game. Very few, if any, care at all about the players welfare. A player manager who had any concerns for him personally would have firstly made sure he understood the implications of his...

    Brookie - the Penn vision

I'm not from the area, but Brookvale is an industrial/commercial centre if I'm not mistaken? People go there to shop, do business etc, not necessarily to see the sights? I don't know the legalities of it, given that its council owned, but if the street frontage of the stands contained retail...

    New CEO

Well personally, apart from the kids school lunch orders, I have no real need for brown paper bags. I'd rather cash. I'll show myself out.

    New CEO

I sad this in another thread, but the back ending tacting gave us the 2011 premiership and the 2013 GF. Without it, our team would have been dismantled earlier. I can can live with some pain now given the great ride we've had since 2007. In saying that, sorry to see Perry go. His statement...

Time for the New Age of Manly

I'm still yet to be convinced that Des' approach is not the way to go. To win a premiership these days, you need all the stars to align in terms of your playing roster. That is, multiple marquee players all on the field at the same time. In order to win multiple premierships in a short space of...

    Manly crowd v wanderers

I wonder what the crowd and atmosphere would be like if there were only two Sydney teams in a national rugby league competition who only played each other three times in a season and the season was moved to Summer so it didn't have to compete with any other football code?

    Willy Mason

I see your point, but I think it's more a Ben Kennedy type scenario. A decent player at the end of his career who suits our needs. He can do his thing while supporting our younger props into the top grade. I'm happy to have him at the right price.

WORST POSSIBLE Grand Final! Who Are you Going For and Why?

One way they can both lose is if the referees make a horrible, inexcusable, blatantly obvious blunder that decides the game. One loses on the scoreboard and feels the subsequent pain. The wimner's victory is shrouded in controversy and will forever be remembered as the grand final they...

    Financial position

Whittaker was a boy doing a man's job in the negotiation. In my opinion the ARL had won the battle for hearts and minds after the 1997 season. Super league came out of it much better than they should have. In my opinion if the ARL had of held on a season of two longer, super league would've had...

    Low Tackles almost outlawed

Totally agree. In my opinion the answer is treat it similar to a dominant or surrender tackle. Change the rule that for a one on one tackle below the waist, the attacker has to wait until the tackler has got up and positioned himself at marker before he can play the ball.

When Will That Announcement Come ?

Count me in this camp. I'm very disappointed, but he busted himself for the club and I thank him for his work. If he leaves, then I wish him the best personally, but I don't wish him success on the field. In terms of what went on behind the scenes, again, it was unacceptable if what was...

Watmough never again in a Manly jersey?

RE: Watmaugh - In the end, it was all about money Its been an up and down ride with him for sure. But his positives outweigh his negatives by far and he gave us great service. I'm sorry to see him go, and a bit angry like a lot of people on here. As much with Arthur and Paramatta as with...

    Disillusioned/disruptive players....what to do?

I don't think it would be legally enforceable as it is probably restraint of trade, however the NRL could introduce a blanket rule that if a player is released at his request, he can't play for another NRL club for the period of remaining on his contract. For example of Choc is that...

    No Manly - GO Penrith!!

I will not EVER, under any circumstances support a former Superleague club. They nearly destroyed us and I will not forget that. In saying that, I hope Penrith pump the Bullscum next week. I also can't stomach a Souths win. pride of the league and all that crap. I don't get the Roosters...

    Watching snake score that try...

Say all you want about Foran. He hasn't done the job expected of a $1m dollar player. Snake is a much better ball player than he has ever been given credit for and is an entirely valid option if we want to get rid of Foran, free up some $ and buy some muscle up front. We have the backs to...

    So called issues

Snake is the one of those who I really want to stay. He is the best of them, and along with Killer are the two who can lead our rebuild. It's ironic that Foran is siding with the senior players here when he is one of the players we are reserving salary cap funds for. He is really only a...

Manly v Dogs [Round Finals Week 2 2014]

Great comeback and proud of the boys. I'm assuming a few who posted earlier in the match are too embarrassed to come back-slapping now. But this is going to sound weird, in a way I'd rather get flogged than lose a match we could/should have won. There's no dwelling on the 'what ifs' when you...

    Make a real difference

I live 4 hours away, so couldn't be there on Friday. However, although I was tempted, I didn't turn the TV off. I was rewarded with the late tries, a couple that demonstrated skill and determination. This gives me a glimmer of hope for Saturday, and at this stage I will be driving down. I...

[Resurrected] what the f**k is wrong with our club

Disappointed in the result tonight for sure. But I'll be renewing my membership next payday regardless of what happens between now and then. I have every confidence that the club will sort out any problems over the next couple of seasons. And unlike a lot of you, I don't know precisely what the...

What do we take out of tonight?

Yes, and I share your pain. Most of that was very hard to stomach. But we gave a chance to atone and I'm hopeful that we can apply a few things from tonight to next week.
