    It appears to me that the backs will be as per '21, except for the Walker fiasco as I can't see him re-signing as a 14, and us ponying up 450k for him to play that role. Would an extension mean he would be moving back to the centres? Surely the Beef addition rules out the Walker playing prop...

    That sucks if true mate. He won't be playing FG at the Sharks for the first half of the season if they don't upgrade him as Devel players are not allowed to play FG until after round 10. I imagine they will upgrade him.

    Totally agree we have some talented halves who will be ready in 3 or 4 years and they have potentially a lot higher ceilings than Luke. Luke is FG ready now and if something happens to DCE and Foran all we have in the wings is Con. Yeah, we can't keep 'em all but we will be caught short if DCE...

    This has been mentioned several times mate...his 3 year 650k/year contract was back-ended and thanks for the opportunity to give my thoughts on this. If the 680k and 850 k figures bandied about are correct then he only cost us 420k the first year. Any way you look at it he cost us 650k/year...

    He is a perfect 7 for the new game...very fast, elusive and can play. Probably the quickest 7 in the NRL. I think he was let go because he was thought to be to small and defence would always be a problem.

    He is a 7 mate and he never had an opportunity with DCE there. Killed it at the 9's in his only opportunity. Anyways, I may look at him differently to many as I was a fan.

    DCE will be out for SOO at least 2 games and then maybe injury? IMHO he was our best 1/2 to groom to take over from DCE. If DCE does indeed leave at the end of next season to join the start-up Con will be our only option at 7 and if Luke improves at FG level in '22 we will have dropped the ball...

    There is something about him that had me on his side. Will he be a star..he may very well become a very good FG'er and I was disappointed he was moved on. He played very well this year and was the Sharks best on 2 occasions I watched.

    450k for a utility role...no thanks. I can't see him going back to the centres as the current ones have earned their spots and we have youngsters coming through to contest those spots. It feels like Des has warmed to bringing in younger guys because the game has changed so much.

    I would imagine they would want DCE signed up well before the '23 pre-season starts if he is a chance to go there. His presence would be invaluable in recruitment etc, etc, etc. Will be interesting to see what happens and I would have no hard feeling toward him if he left a year early.
