Game Day: Manly v Knights [Round 8, 2020]

How Schuster doesn’t get a run at 5/8 is beyond me. Our other options are laughable.

Game Day: Manly v Knights [Round 8, 2020]

He did grab his arm so has to be professional foul that close to the line.

NON Manly games [Round 8, 2020]

Melbourne blatantly slowing the play the ball and referee ignores it. Eithe 3rd man falls on his own player and no intention of tackling the attacking player, or defender lies around in the ruck to slow the dummy half. And don’t tell me that they aren’t using arms around neck or head as much as...

NON Manly games [Round 8, 2020]

Not sure which game you were watching. Storm still slowing the play the ball all night yet rarely penalised. Also only got back into it when Klein penalised Cordner from the kick off for “taking out” Vunivalu when all he did was stand his ground. Also Finucane put the ball on the ground before...

    Recruitment

Have to agree with you. Was thinking how we released Gutherson after making such a big deal about signing the Turbos and him as star juniors. When you look at Will Hopoate, JWH, Kieran Foran, Ramien, these are elite players we lost in their prime. We keep going for the bargain basement player...

    Alex Johnston

Which player are you referring to?

    Alex Johnston

He played for under 18s Australian rugby team last year with the fullback Souths signed recently who is meant to be next superstar.

Why would we chase Saab when we have Albert Hopoate and Tolu Koula waiting in the wings. Not to mention Ben Trbojevic.

    Albert hopoate cleared by specialist

If anyone has seen the try he scored from his own try line ( it’s on you tube) then tell me of another prospect we have that could match that. I would hate him to be thrown to the wolves, but we are crying out for speed and X factor. Schuster played really well in the trial against Cronulla at...

Game Day: Manly v Sharks [Round 7, 2020]

Don’t know how fans would think we could win by 20 with this team; all our strike players are injured, and DCE woeful in attack. Unless Des takes a punt on Schuster, Hopoate, we will struggle to score points.

    Overturn the result

The other aspect which makes it more infuriating, is that Annesley determined the call was wrong by watching the replay. So he is saying if the bunker had watched a replay they would have reversed the decision, and Manly would have won. So why not use the technology???

    Tooves Greatest team

O’Connor played for Australia in Rugby and League. Kicked that winning goal from the sideline in Origin in the pouring rain at the SFS., as well as scoring all 18 points in another Origin win. He was very instrumental in our GF success in 87. Was a brilliant player and exciting to watch, so...

    Who impressed? And who didn't?

Couldn’t agree more. The fact that the NRL allows Melbourne to lie all over the player and give 3 defenders all the time in the world to roll away just kills the spectacle. The players are so fit and with interchange, the exciting passages of play are few and far between. If I hadn’t been...

    Bring on Schuster

Agree with Schuster at 5/8 as he is a ball player and current halves both like to run. Also Tafua shown up again, too slow for a winger.

    Trial V Sharks

Forgot to mention Saddler also very impressive before he got injured. Hopefully it was nothing serious given the number of forwards already missing. Same for Ipape who looked very sharp in his short stint.

    Trial V Sharks

First time I’ve seen Schuster live and can see why he has all these raps. Very classy player and looked excellent in attack and defence. Keppie a must in the 17 and Guacamole also a standout. Levi did ok and I thought all the back up hookers showed something. If Elliot plays a lot of first grade...

Pre Game thread: Manly v Sharks [Week 1 Finals, 2019]

Like most pundits I would expect Cronulla to win this on paper. However, if there’s one team we’ve been able to jag a win against it’s the Sharks. I’ll be going to my first game this year, and after just finding out I’m grouped with Beaver Menzies at Terrey Hills Par 3 course next Wednesday...

1977 MW NS- Johnny Gibbs the maestro!

While everyone's favorite player in the 70's growing up was Fulton or Eadie, I fell in love with Gibbsy's blinding acceleration and that inimitable head back running style. Saw him chip and chase twice in one movement to score a try once, I think against Norths in the lower grades. A shame such...

Game Day: Manly v Broncos [Round 25, 2018]

As bad as we have been, the one sided refereeing is typical of this garbage NRL. How many times is someone accidentally hit in the head but it’s always a penalty, except when it’s Manly. Since when is sliding in with the knees accidental? We make a break and they are all offside and we drop the...

Game Day: Manly v Penrith [Round 20, 2018]

Am incensed with the one way refereeing. Penrith being called constantly for hand on the ball, yet not penalised for slowing the play the ball, let alone the strips not called. As soon as we do anything remotely untoward it’s a penalty. We have been poor this year and deserve to be at the lower...
