What’s really killing our 2025 season?

I'm one of many feeling your pain. I put our inconsistent form down to the players, not Boldy, or any other coach for that matter. When you analyse all the clubs in the 2025 NRL all bar the two on top have been up and down. Take McGuire as an example: He couldn't make the Tigers competitive yet...

Las Vegas, 2026. Who what when...

I'm reading that the NRL expects more Australians to travel to Vegas in 2026 to experience the season's opening matches. I wouldn't be so confident, mainly because of the cost. I did an analysis of the cost for a one-week stay and it is incredibly high. I've also had three separate...

The Actual 18th Team: Perth Bears

The Bears will need to be successful from the start so expect even more home town decisions than is normal in the NRL.

Souths Game - Manly Experience for my Son

Much better to stay in Manly. Brookvale has plenty of good craft beer outlets but your son is too young to fully enjoy them.

Luke Brooks - the plate is hot

I'd give him a 7 out of 10 for his performance since joining. His defence is stronger than I realised but he certainly hasn't set the attack alight.

Las Vegas, 2026. Who what when...

By my reckoning Manly will return to Vegas in 2028. I still have a hankering to go, but a couple of things will determine my commitment: 1. We will have to have a competitive team 2. The cost A friend of mine went this year and took his two sons, as one is a keen Shark supporter. He said it was...

You must have seen the chaos an injury to a back causes a team with four forwards on the bench. The problem I see with the fowards we keep selecting on the bench is that they are 'impact' players, on for short stints. Such as BFB, Bully, Gordon... I'm pleased that Navale is on the bench now as...

Karma got him; 10 weeks out with an injury.

I think TT2 is an ideal 'back' to have on the bench as he can cover almost all backline positions. Plus he is strong enough to play as a backrow forward in an injury emergency. Pity he's one of our regularly injured troop. Having Clayton on the bench is risker because he plays more limited...

    Pre-Game Cowboys V Manly [Round 11, 2025]

Worst bench for a long time. Our usual injury-plagued are still missing: Al, Froggy, TT2....

I just did some rough calculations. By my reckoning, Tent has missed at least 76 matches since he debuted in 2018, and played 123. Of course, he is also going to miss the rest of this season. I have always known Tent has potential, but he is so injury prone that we are wasting space for him.

    2026 Team possibilities

Everyone seems to be trying to push Jurbo out. Have you all forgotten the most basic requirement of a player? That is to get on to the field. How often do Tent and Al play?

I disagree about Clayton; he has played well in his limited opportunities in First Grade.

The problem was with our bench players in the Cronulla match. We had Bully and Brown, who are used in short stints, and Waddle, who is not up to first grade standards. Then we had Clayton who is an outside back. Jurbo had to play long minutes as prop to compensate.

100%, When you read that Easts have purchased a block of flats adjacent to the Football Stadium to house their juniors from intrastate, interstate and overseas when they train and play in their lower grades it underscores why money equals success. Easts groom these promising kids which is why...
