Mitch Moses is probably the player I dislike most in the game, but I think he was more effective than the other halves on the field last night. He played over the advantage line, made a line break, put Angus C into space a couple of times, and defended strongly. I actually thought Cleary was...

    Lehi deserves the 1

I’m in the Lehi to 1 over Koula camp and that’s saying something because Koula is my favourite player. Lehi is a better defender (as in setting the defence and providing a last line), better under the high ball and better at generating a fast play-the-ball on kick returns. He has great...

A lot of ‘DCE wasn’t that bad’ and that’s true but missing the point a little. He’s not there for ‘wasn’t that bad’, he’s the captain and halfback. I think that’s the point of the criticism levelled at him. There’s not a lot of creativity in Daly at SOO level. He just goes through the motions...

    Galvin

I can see where you're coming from; the guy is a big noise and achieved nothing yet. But yeah, Gus has taken the plunge and will have to live by his decision; knowing that bastard, it'll land him a premiership!

    [Resurrected] Turbo injury,healt..wait..injury - updates

I see your point. Koula gassed quicker than Hoppa though…the conundrum continues 😂

    [Resurrected] Turbo injury,healt..wait..injury - updates

The Koula/Hoppa to 1 debate is interesting. Koula is more explosive and can create numbers with his speed but is less silky with his passing game. Hoppa is a great last line in defence and has a stronger yardage carry to allow for a quick play-the-ball. It really is splitting hairs.

    Galvin

You’re off the mark IMO. The **** fight is not Galvin’s doing; the Dogs offered him a contract, it’s on them. Galvin hasn’t forced a reshuffle, Gus and his recruitment team have. I don’t like Galvin and his management but it’s not his fault when a club reshuffles their team to accomodate a...

    Galvin

I think the way the Tigers exit was handled was poor; not suggesting he owed them his signature, but the public fallout was unnecessary. However, it’s not Galvin’s duty to knock back a contract at another club because a player there might get dropped back to NSW Cup. Every player in the game is...

I’ll be bowled over if they win it. I think the first time that record is broken, it’ll be by a remarkable team, not a Roosters side in the middle of a rebuild.

Chooks conceded 50; count them out

Personally, I don’t think the Chooks can beat Dogs or Melbourne in the big dance. I think you’re right about a deal being done a while back and a release being sought. The Roosters knew Keary was leaving and Daly’s wanted out for a while. The timelines certainly match up.

You’re right. Worth adding that Curran and Mann have been extended since their initial deals were signed too.

I love this Politis handshake narrative that is spun in the media from time to time; how many players have the Roosters cast off over the years? I recall favourite son and premiership winning halfback Mitchell Pearce on a bus to Newcastle. I remember Kyle Flanagan on the scrap heap after one...

    Jamal Fogarty

I think Ricky has done well in Canberra, regardless of winning % and what not. He's had a very difficult time recruiting talent to the nations capital and done well to think outside the box to build a competitive roster, i.e. UK signings, untried rookies, etc. I think most coaches would...

Really promising tackle efficiency from all involved 😂

I think there’s something bigger happening at Penrith. JFH is pretty much the only player missing from the pack that won the comp last year. They’ve been up for a long time and a few losses to start the year tested their resolve and they haven’t got the desire to fight their way out of it. The...

Young Forwards - Do we have any?

Pretty sure the Roosters have been feeding off the area for decades.

    Tommy Talau

    I think you’re right!

    Haumole to the middle?

I don’t think so. For three reasons: 1. He is the primary point of attack on the right edge and not just when he gets the ball, but when he attracts defenders to free up outside men, e.g. couple of tries he had an impact on against Penrith. 2. he will fatigue and that’ll nullify his impact. He...

Just in the ballpark, I think. They can take less but not considerably less. It also must be a percentage because Glenn Stewart’s contract was not that big a gap but we couldn’t get it over the line.
