    Post-Game Discussion Cowboys V Manly [Round 11, 2025]

Sounds like you had a nice night!

    Jake T.

I watched the replay and it was shoulder to head that caused it. The elbow came up underneath and had little to do with it. I hated seeing Jake like that but he got his head in the wrong position trying to make a big tackle after his unforced error. Players use their shoulders in almost every...

    Can’t believe we’re 6th

Trouble is, if we lost last night, we’d only be two points ahead of the Eels in last place. We were right to feel like the sky was falling. We are not out of the woods yet. A tough SOO period coming up where we play three games without our stars. I get that DCE hasn’t exactly set the world on...

    Voss commentary

Did you hear his Dad Joke about the post being sent for 10 in the bin after moderate force, when Waddell was forced back out of the in goal? I can’t cop that sort of lame humour from him.

    Voss commentary

He was only calling one team last night, as usual. We win and win well and all he could talk about was the Cowboys and how they should persist with their new halves combination. He should be sacked.

    Post-Game Discussion Cowboys V Manly [Round 11, 2025]

He slipped and almost did his ankle. It looked to me like he was in two minds as to weather he should take another couple of metres closer to the posts or just ground it. That moment of indecision caused the slip. I watched the reply and focused on his left leg, which slid like he was on a...

    [Resurrected] Taupau being shopped?

I was excited when Taupau left 3 years ago because he was past it then. Why would I want him to come back now, when he is a further 3 years past being up to it? The last 2 years of his career at Manly were so poor. Since then, he has spent most of his time playing QLD Cup before being sacked for...

    Post-Game Discussion Cowboys V Manly [Round 11, 2025]

Shame the Sharks have become our bogey team, after we owned them for so many years.

All NRL Games [Round 11, 2025]

Ronaldo is a good footballer but an appalling human being.

    Caleb Navale

When you win a game by 18 and the opposition score 6 points, the coach is vindicated in his use of the bench.

    How do we unlock Koula?

A kick is a good idea but I think we are better going left, regardless. Tom is definitely more effective from right to left and Brooks is better at engaging defenders at the line than DCE, who likes to play a bit flatter and earlier to Olakau’atu.

    MVP: Rd 11 v Cowboys

I thought Waddell had a strong game but geez he is good for a dumb penalty. He’s lucky it didn’t completely turn the momentum in the game because we were hanging on and finally got the Cowboys camped in their own end; enter Waddell, who couldn’t help but have another grab after releasing...

    refs

The Bunker tip them off; there’s someone in there who is given the job to watch over that on every ruck. Regardless, it’s such a difficult job and a very thankless one. The pay off is they get the absolute best view in the house every week. It must be so exhilarating for them at times.

    How do we unlock Koula?

Apart from his one drop ball, had another really strong game. He’s a fantastic player.

    MVP: Rd 11 v Cowboys

    3 - Hoppa (yardage work was incredible) 2 - Ben T 1 - Brooks

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

Totally agree with all of this but it’s worth pointing out that mindset is only part of it; the reason it can’t be replicated by other clubs, is because of the aerobic capacity of their squad. You have to assemble a squad of certain ‘types’ of players. Quick, mobile and fit enough to work hard...

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I think Seibold is part of the problem, but not in some short sighted ‘he’s won a spoon’ ‘he is accountable’ ‘he’s mediocre’ kind of childish rhetoric. Rather, he has ability but backed the wrong horse. I see a couple of issues: 1. He has a bit of Brian Smith’s overly-analytical approach to the...

What’s really killing our 2025 season?

Agree 100% but it shouldn’t be huge. There’s just not enough around him to offset the loss and that’s on the club’s recruitment strategy.

    The Daly Cherrygraph

Manly’s trump card is dropping him to NSW Cup. Tell him to put in or rot in the lower grades.

    The Daly Cherrygraph

I don’t think Smith is the answer anyway. He is quick and a decent runner but he’s a long way off being a game manager/decision maker type half. The irony is, many see $CE as lacking in those areas, so we wouldn’t be too worse off, but we do need his kicking game.
