Where have all the Naysayers gone?

I expected us to bounce back and said so. I also suggested starting Keppie but have yet to get a single word of thanks from Des.....The Chooks were there to be beaten. The Bunnies will be a whole different level

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

Obviously the Storm will throw more at them than Parra but we saw against Parra they can be frustrated. In our first game against them we defended well against them for the most part. You can't make the errors that we so often do.

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

There wasn't a point in the second half. When was the last half like that?

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

I agree. I wouldn't write them off against the Storm if they can defend like that they are always a chance off Cleary's boot

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

I am not writing off Penrith against the Storm, especially if they get back To'o. If they can find defend the Storm the way Parra did then I could see them frustrating their way to a win off Cleary's boot

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

What the game lacked in finesse (other than the kicking games of the two halves) it made up for in desperation. I want that level from Manly for the next two (hopefully) games and if we get that level of intensity we have the strike to beat anyone

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

As much as it causes me abdominal pain to say anything nice about Parra - they are a limited team but they played about as hard they could within those limitations

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

I was thinking the dad but yes you could say either. Funny how Panthers have seized up in finals after carrying all easily before them earlier in the year

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

I think you have to start thinking choke. Cleary still to show he can a win premiership

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

God I like a bash-em up game. Footy like it used to be. Most games now look like light-contact training runs

    Good game. Not subtle

7-tackle set? Must be finals time

    Penrith v Parramatta [Week 2 finals, 2021]

I think Penrith will have the extra touch of class to win this but they don't have the polish they had earlier in the season and panic a little. Still I reckon the winner of this match will tenderise the Storm and so we really want to get past the Bunnies

    [Resurrected] Girdler hates us

My (fading admittedly) memory of Girdler is that he was a bit of a flat-track bully himself - in that his best performances generally weren't against the best teams. Still that doesn't invalidate his argument - and you might even say it takes one to know one, As well as we played, the Chooks...

Some stats to get excited about

Also if you add the digits in 2021 you get five and it took five rounds for us to get our first win. Five plus five equals 10 and it has been 10 years since our last premiership, so the numbers all point to us. The LWWW has been mentioned a few times but this now has me very concerned about our...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

With Jake finding his ball-playing touch last night (I am not sure he has had a better game for us in attack) and Walker also doing a bit of that Schuster has been a bit relegated to tackling and hit ups. Hopefully he can still produce something special when we need it

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

I feel that Schuster's talents are being wasted hitting it up (which is not his forte) and tackling. Another idea might be to start Paseka and have Keppie in the second row (which gives our pack great punch) and then rotate in Schuster to have a bit of freer hand. I think the problem is that we...

    Harper, Schuster & Olakau'atu

Ola was good tonight but he always seems to get the ball flat-footed. Like to see him run onto it more

    Keppie

Keppie has been so good since coming back. I hope he starts again. I also think Paseka could start with Keppie at second row and rotate in Schuster, which might help freshen him a bit and restore some of his attacking edge

Harper's been so bad he needs to go

Harper responded well but he didn't have Olam to contend with. Tedesco ran around him for one of their only breaks of the night. On the whole Easts played one match too many and Souths will be a much tougher proposition. Still good to see us winning in September again as we should.
