    Pre-Game Manly v Tigers [Round 9, 2022]

It's an exciting line-up, especially in that backline - a potential future long-term backline dress rehersal? Humphries also named in Reserves is encouraging even if he'll likely be cut well before game day. Was hoping he wouldn't slump into self-piteous daddy-issues. Hopefully he keeps...

    Marty

That sounds like an experiment worth a run Ron - T8u and Koula are performing great. Saab always has suspect def and also his workrate is not excessive - he doesn't make those 1%'ers that suggest to me he will take advantage of his natural size/speed ability and push himself. These young guys...

    Marty

IF Des yanked him (big IF), then that follows a recent pattern of yanking of a liability (eg named Harper a week ago). We whinge and moan about Dec sticking with players to his own detriment - is this not a good sign that he finally discovered the hook? I thought Harper was resurrected against...

    Marty

Harper had a great game against the Knights. Sharks different proposition sure (although the Broncos showed them up). Gets covid, terrible therafter as Talakai feasted on the remaining parts of his soul Olam left after 2021 finals series. Marty gets Covid. Terrible thereafter. Just might be a...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

From what I heard in the call, Josh was enterprising and involved. Sure, he may have been short on match-fitness, but I admire his tenacity. I'm really glad to see him back in the fold, and he will be a game-breaker later on in the season as his confidence and match fitness return.

    Marty

That one right before half time really hurt I agree. But i'm thinking the missed tackles might well be covid-related gassing. I'm sure Marty would be hurting about his performance tonight, and how he bounces back is what matters here. He could well feel he single-handedly squandered an...

    Marty

Didn't see the game - heard the game though so I know Marty had a shocker. Guy is coming back from Covid though - do we give him the benefit of the doubt on this?

    Sione Fainu leaving?

Losing Sione - to the Tigers of all clubs - is a shame. Thought we had the Fainu clan sewn up, what with the club's support of Manase through an especially tough time. Guess we won't be seeing a team full of Turbos and Fainus after all. Hope he get's some experience at the Tigers and finds his...

    LOL @ Tigers

The poor Tigers are a lesson for other clubs on how not to operate. For mine, they are a prime example of how the back-office administration team (CEO and board - the white-collar team) can effectively ruin a club through poor decision making and incompetence. Given we have just watched our...

    Cross-Forum-Discussion Round 5 2022

Gotta admit, when the Broncs went in at half-time 10-0 then went behind after like 10-15mins in the 2nd I thought it was academic. Credit to them to hang in there and re-take the lead. Go (insert name of any Rooters opposition)!!!

A thread for the death riders

I'm not even in-country but I can tell we are just not hitting the mark.....when it comes to manipulation of Ref decisions and towing the NRL storylines. I mean....come-on! How long can we rely on this balancing act of getting screwed in the meaty parts of the game, only to have the ref balance...

    The Turnaround

Nice way to make up some F/A deficit at the end. I like this killer instinct they are showing the last fortnight - a team they beat down with their defence isn't up to it and start to panic-push their plays, and we punish them. Most impressive is that defensive effort the last 3 weeks. Great to...

Game Day: Knights v Manly [Round 5, 2022]

To all the people whinging about the commentators, listen to Grandstand radio and watch on mute. Dunno if it syncs up properly but sure you can pause/fast-fwd if your telly has that feature to sync it. The radio commentary is great :)

Game Day: Knights v Manly [Round 5, 2022]

Since I started listening about 10mins ago, Manly sound like they have converted every opp they have had at the Knight's end. Taking your opportunities in the wet is where its at guys! Liking what i'm hearing so far

Game Day: Knights v Manly [Round 5, 2022]

Listening in - lots of praise for the Manly goaline-defence. Guess it has to be on point with the amt of penalties I have heard blown.... Is it just me or is it a tad excessive? Without watching its hard to envisage if they are deserved or if its just a trigger happy Klein tonight.

Looking forward to tonight's game of Water Polo. I'll be listening in via the ABC Grandstand :)

    Tolu Koula

Didn't Whare get a Hattrick on debut? Not setting a high bar or anything are we.... I only saw the highlights, but that first try shows Koula has great instinct for playing to the whistle. Really liked this about him, amongst a lot of other things to like about his age, talent, speed and...

    Ok Harper - last chance

If I am not mistaken, this week's 'at home' game is goin' to Mudgee. We have the crowd in Mudgee still - altho Raiders a diff proposition for local support than the fancy-pants Titans. Don't disagree with the rest of the post, and feel that Harper was sensational for a run of games last year...

    Post-Game Discussion Manly v Bulldogs [Round 3, 2022]

A bit of Dejavu seeing the scoreline on this and watching the highlights (from my new home in Singapore....) So last year we got a win 13-12 against the warriors and that started our season. Hopefully the same after this win! Looked like horrid conditions, those games are always tough. Hope...
