    The scales of Reuben.

Watch any highlights video from the previous 3 years and you'll find examples of DCE sprinting/jamming in to make a tackle or intercept instead of sliding line across. Sometimes it works but a lot of the time it creates a lot more space on the outside for the attacking team.

    Jake Trbojevic... take a bow

Can you imagine the media headlines if he dropped or tried to move on the incumbent State of Origin winning captain who is a local junior? He would need to hire an entire PR department.

The Bulldogs are going to flood that wing with traffic all afternoon on Sunday, so I hope they figure something out.

    Jake Simpkin signed until 2026

I doubt the starting hooker role will simply be given to him... so surely it's up to Simpkin to win the starting hooker spot during 2025 pre-season training.

    The scales of Reuben.

Whoever plays right centre is going to have a very difficult job so long as DCE keeps sprinting out of the line in defense, tackling no one and creating an overlap on the outside. It happens every game and the centre/winger get the blame for it when they can't shut it down.

    Turbo good to go

Yep... we have other skilled backs, but only a fit Tom is an individual threat that attracts defenders, opens up our other attacking options and gives the rest of the team confidence to win against more fancied opposition. If he doesn't play then we aren't proceeding. Which to be fair is not...

    Post-Game Discussion Manly V Sharks [Round 27, 2024]

Apart from the lack of possession and poor tackling... Most of the backline didn't really make many metres with the ball until it was much too late. Sharks' back line all ran over 110 metres by comparison. That's the difference Tom and to a lesser extent Saab makes.

All NRL Games [Round 27, 2024]

I'm thinking that the small forwards strategy that has got the Bulldogs to this point has run its course. It works against teams outside the finals but against the good teams with big forwards they get found out.

Andrew Johns: Can’t win the NRL title outside the top four? If it’s ever going to happen, Manly is the team

If we beat the Sharks on Sunday and if the Dolphins don't proceed, then we'll have won against every other team in the Top 8 this season... which is more impressive than 2021 when we made it to finals week 3 having only won against 2/7 other teams (who finished 6th and 8th) that made it to the...

    Pre-Game Manly V Sharks [Round 27, 2024]

Saab will be back in when fit... Our right edge had a few poor misses against the Bulldogs but nothing to be too worried about.

All NRL Games [Round 26, 2024]

Apart from being a Class A hypocrite, he does have a bit of a point... The last time DCE was injured for any significant amount of time was because of a textbook hip drop from Elliott Whitehead in 2019.

    The scales of Reuben.

For all of the criticism, here are some of his stats from last night: 1 try 1 line break 2 try assists 2 line break assists 5/6 goals 16 runs for 143 metres 4 tackle breaks Yes the 8 missed tackles were a concern, but absolutely zero reason to drop him. He'll only keep improving.

    Turbo good to go

I live in hope, but we'll know soon enough.

    Lehi Hopoate

I thought Clayton had footy smarts but he seemed to get pretty easily ragdolled against the Roosters. So maybe Paulo... not sure if Vaega is down the pecking order but he could go alright as a straight swap for Saab.

    Post-Game Discussion Bulldogs V Manly [Round 26, 2024]

We can't wrap him in cotton wool. He's going to get injured at some point, unfortunately it was tonight. Hope Saab and Turbo are back for finals. We'll probably have to win without them next week.

    Lehi Hopoate

We will also need to cover for Saab so I think Lehi will get first crack at fullback.

Game Day: Bulldogs V Manly [Round 26, 2024]

This has been a great win against highly rated opposition. Only the Tom injury is a big concern...
