    Wayne Cousins ( Media Manager)

Not at all. You will find the old JD for Wayne is significantly different to the new JD for Chris Warren. Horse and cart v motor vehicle. Wayne's old job (as defined by it's JD and Job Goals) no longer exists. The old Wayne role is well and truly redundant.

The game has moved on from me and a lot of people from my generation

I agree @Bearfax. I was actually there that day as a young kid. Biggest boilover I have ever witnessed in sport. No-one expected the Tigers to win.... including the Tigers fans. The Souths forwards were a deadly machine that year ++ with the likes of Sattler, O'Neal, Coote, McCarthy, Sait...

The game has moved on from me and a lot of people from my generation

@mickqld I thought you were talking about 1969. There were really only three teams in it that year (Saints, South and Wests). However despite this the mighty Balmain Tigers won the comp that year in a boilover. Re tribalism and passion....plenty of this in my family today and we are spread...

    The Silvertail's optimism pulse 2025.

Definitely a possible in 25. Probably a probable. We have had some good buys with solid experience and some outstanding youth which combined I think will complement the team this year nicely. We just need some luck with injuries and some smart(er) / gutsier decisions with coaching and individual...

    [Resurrected] Ezra Mam

The more disturbing aspect for mine was the almost non existent "sentence" handed down by the local Magistrate. This guy is supposed to reflect community values. Instead it wreaks of reverse racism..

    [Resurrected] Gordon Chan Kum Tong

I like Gordie and I would have him as my 14. I like his passing and running game however the pre-condition for selection in 1sts would be a real improvement in his tackling technique. I think this lets him down and I would be insisting he goes low every time and not worry about trying to wrap up...

    We were blessed at centre

What an incredible list. If I had to pick my best 2 starting centres of all time I would have to go Jamie and Snoz. These guys seemed to glide over the park with feet barely touching the ground. Bozo best at 5/8 for mine.

This is my one and only resolution!!!

    The Silvertail's optimism pulse 2025.

I am actually quite optimistic and positive with the management and coaching team now in place. Really impressed with both Tony Mestrov but also Anthony Seibold. I "failed" Seibs for his 24 performance on some very specific points that I don't think he adequately addressed but overall really...

One has to go ... who ?

I agree with you on this point. However that is a fact of NRL life and is the cost of having high quality guys in the remaining 13.... to seriously compete against the 17 selected. I wish we had more Tommy Talaus in the 13.....not less. I would like to have more of what you see as an issue!!!

One has to go ... who ?

I got your point but I think you may have missed mine. By your logic then the club has issues with the 13 players NOT picked EACH WEEK for 1st grade. I don't think that is the case and I don't think that is an issue. I do agree however that if this was to continue for an entire season then yes...

One has to go ... who ?

Good to see you back on here @Woodsie. Yes it's a valid question raised. There are actually two issues here. One is real and the other one I suspect is not. One real issue is financial. Where do the dollars come from for the inevitable and looming upgrades required for Lehi and for Tommy Talau...

    Wayne Cousins ( Media Manager)

Much more than the IT Team. Corporate "Digital Teams" have evolved more from the traditional Marketing and Promotions people rather than the IT folks. Today they are a young and very sophisticated go-to-market group critical in most organisations. For the Eagles, their brief might be for example...

    Who’s “ stepping up” in 2025

I mentioned in a another thread that Chris Patolo will be a surprise package in 25. I would like to add Siua Taukeiaho to this. If both these guys can stay injury free, I think they will make a huge difference to our pack. Both (unfortunately) have some bad history with injuries so fingers...

    Left field

A whole bottle?? If you like the Wild Turkey then I would highly recommend Angel's Envy. Much smoother....and smaller bottle!!!

    Left field

Onitoni is 18 next year and (apparently) at a higher level development than Joseph Suallii same age. He also played Jersey Flegg for Wests this year so no stranger to coming up against the bigger boys. Coming off the bench with Cherry outside of him and Turbo likely other side of him, he will...

    Left field

Interesting combination. I would say definitely better than what we currently have in the spine and more potentially Premiership winning in 25. Several reservations. 1. Turbo...I would be looking to preserve / protect him more, so I would not be putting him in at 5/8. 2. Turbo again....killed it...

    2026 recruitment & retention

From what I have seen and heard, Patolo could be THE surprise package in 25. Big statement I know given some of the newbies on board. This kid has already played over 25 NRL games so could be a perfect complement to our forward pack. Look forward to seeing him in action.

    Defence

This was one of the three big reasons I reluctantly gave Seibs a fail in 24. The other two reasons related firstly to an inability of the coaching staff to create workable game plans around getting Tolu out in the open (kick throughs, chips, cut-outs etc) and secondly, around our right side...
