    State of Origin, 2025.

Reece Robson's bonehead plays are killing his team. Held Tom Dearden's jumper for the penalty before the Coates try. Now he holds back Hammer resulting in a dropout, and now another try.

    Garrick

No one has said as much, but I have always wondered if the move to centre by both Garrick and Lomax was more money motivated than anything?? Wingers don't get paid squat really. Alex Johnston at Souths is likely to break Ken Irvine's try record sometime this season or early next year, and he'd...

Which is why I hope for Reubs that if he does go on to break Wombat's record ... that at least he finishes with enough points to put to bed the usual "only 3 points for a try" arguments that come up when an old point scoring record is broken. The one thing he might face is games played. Wombat...

    Garrick general news thread

Fun Fact: As of the end of 2024, Reuben Garrick was averaging 194 points per season (as of right now its 189). Club record holder Graham Eadie averaged just over 147 points per season. At his current rate if Garrick is retained as the first choice kicker over Fogarty and he remains healthy blah...

    Garrick general news thread

IMO Reuben Garrick is an OK centre. He's not a bad one, but could be better. However ... he is a very good winger. I can understand why he'd want to be in the centres, but like most of us I think he has always (with Manly at least) been far more suited to the wing.

    Burbo

Saab did make a couple of good 1 on 1 tackles today including one where Tass was unmarked ouside and if Saab missed, Tass was off to the races. And he was the second top tackler of our outside backs behind Turbo who made 28 tackles. The only one of our starting outside backs who didn't miss a...

    Burbo

FYI, Jason Saab made 12 tackles today and missed 2. And BTW I don't think we get DCE's try without Saab's speed (Edit: Sorry but there is no way that Tommy Talau outruns a rival winger).

    Jamie Humphreys

He and Wighton in the halves just didn't seem to gel today, thankfully.

    MVP: Rd 18 v Souths

3 - TKO 2 - Jake the 1st 1 - Lodge I know it was only Souths who aren't exactly flying high, but our forwards today gave the backs room to move.

Game Day: Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

I hate short kick re-starts :swear: :swear: Just kick the ball 50m downfield and be done with it.

Game Day: Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

Far too many of our players have slipped over tonight. Longer studs.....

Game Day: Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

We need another try (hopefully converted) to steady things down.

Game Day: Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

Saab clipped high by a player who was about 5 metres offside......no penalty.

Game Day: Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

So far today our backline has reaped the benefit, and I know we're only playing Souths who this year have been 💩 ... but I've been impressed by our pack. They've given the backs the room to move and score tries like that by DCE.
  17. HoldenV8

Game Day: Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

That is why Turbo should be the fullback. He would have caught that on the full.....
  18. HoldenV8

Game Day: Manly V Souths [Round 18, 2025]

A pass goes almost a metre forward literally right in front of the touch judge ... and no call :swear: :swear: :swear:

Thankfully Garrick's feet aren't as big as Jason Saab's
