    Middle Forwards

Unfortunately, Brandy has nailed it… Summary: Bully is our only good middle forward, the rest are not up to scratch except for Paseka who is out for the season. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2025/04/21/completely-outplayed-nrl-legend-calls-out-sea-eagles-forward-pack Edit: changed to “middle”...

    Manase

His running game was elite, also had an offload. We played a lot more through the middle back then with AFB and Tapau at the peak of their powers. Manase and Api would split teams up the middle and Turbo would support. Gee it was good to watch. I wish we went back to that style and found some...

    Pre-Game Manly V Dragons [Round 7, 2025]

I’d much prefer we gave a few young blokes a go off the bench instead of dishing up the same crap. We don’t need to change the whole team but some tweaks would be nice. For me, pick: Arthurs (he’s a goer and does the 1%ers, better than the attitude of some others in our squad) Navale (has the...

    Galvin

What’s concerning is just about everyone on this forum called this in the offseason. We lacked mobility and speed in the middle and had very limited second row stocks. But somehow the coaching staff don’t see it. Instead they pick guys like Tevaga, Brown, and Sipley to amplify the problem.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Fogarty currently plays behind a pack with Papalii, Tapine, and Horsburgh…

    2026 recruitment & retention

I agree with most of what you’ve said here except I think Taukeaiho has been quite good

    Pre-Game Manly V Dragons [Round 7, 2025]

Brown, Sipley, Tevaga, Waddell all need to go if we are serious about improving. They’re slow and liabilities in defence. Waddell is also a liability in attack. Navale > Brown Croker/Simpkin > Tevaga Patolo > Sipley Anyone > Waddell

    Jamal Fogarty

The bit that stands out to me was Mestrov mentioned Haas in 2027 when we would “have significant salary cap opening up” - that makes me think we are tight next year and may not see a forward signing of good quality until 2027

    2026 recruitment & retention

    He’s injured more than Turbo

    The Daly Cherrygraph

I’d prefer he announced it now. Otherwise the media will speculate all year.

    Isaiya Katoa

    Make it happen

    How do we unlock Koula?

Would Koula cope with the high balls on the wing? There is something intriguing about this back 5: 1. Lehi 2. Koula 3. Turbo 4. Garrick 5. Saab

    2026 halves plan

Can’t see it happening but Katoa is an excellent player. He’s got even better this year and is so young still

    How do we unlock Koula?

I’m a big fan of Koula and I think he’s a good centre. However, it feels like there is SO much upside we’re not utilising. I think about the times he has played fullback with open space. Then there’s that amazing try against the Dogs in the finals last year. How do we get him more space and...

    Jamal Fogarty

I think you’re being a bit tough on him. While I agree his passing game isn’t great, he has an “ok” running game and one of the better long kicking games in the NRL. The Raiders tend to win more when he’s on the park. I’m not jumping up and down about the signing but for the right price, he...

    Jamal Fogarty

Yea I don’t think we’d have much competition

    Jamal Fogarty

Fogarty has a player option at the Raiders for next year at $650k, why would he give that up to sign with us for less?

    Pre-Game Manly V Storm [Round 5, 2025]

Yea missing Paseka and Aloiai is a big hit to our middle. Tauk has been impressive so far but not sure who goes with him.
