    Finals bound

Yep, it comes down to how we perceive things. Some say we're $h!t because we lost against Parra, Souffs and the Tigers we don't deserve to be in the semis. All teams lose games that they're meant to win - even Melb and Penrith. We've knocked off the top three so that evens it out, yeah? We know...

On the 2GB radio call yesterday they made mention that he was one of the touchies in the Dragons v Sharks match - what demotion?

Refs think they are rock stars

Agree, it seems like they think they only have two options - penalty for a strip or knock on ( loose carry). The ball went backwards, Guac didn't lose it forwards, the defender's hand accidentally knocked it out of his grasp so why not just call "play on".

Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

So...if the bunker reviews it as "direct, forceful contact to the head" why doesn't the independent doctor think the victim needs to come off for a HIA?

Refs think they are rock stars

Yep, and the directive to DCE to 'clean up your teams discipline' is all well and good but how could DCE tell his team to do that without calling them in to tell them, not to mention that Bully had just come on so he wouldn't have been privy to the directive anyway. Just confirms the refs lack...

Refs think they are rock stars

I get that but...why is it then, that a team can give away say, three set restarts early in the count yet get no such warning? Yes, they most likely end up conceding a try but that's it, no further ramifications and it ends up like "well they scored, so there!" I get the warning but l'm pretty...

Refs think they are rock stars

Pappy on Talkin'Sport said similar the other day - rather than let the game flow it's like they find reasons to pull something up. He likened it to a game of Gotcha.

Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

So, will be interesting to see if this rule is applied as rigorously when a team goes for a field goal when it's not the last few minutes or Golden Point. And surely there is someone in the media going through all the field goals kicked during the season to see if this ruling should have been...

Go through NRL stats, the players that touch the ball the most generally have the most errors.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Wow. Look to offload our 4th highest pointscorer, (probably move to 2nd within 2 seasons) that averages over 8.5pts per game and kicks at 75%. More than holds his own at fullback, wing and centre. Tough marker.

Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

Yep, it may have slipped up off the ball BUT going in like he did, Jennings margin for error was small so it could be deemed careless or reckless. One game that's on report and another he goes to the bin. The thing is with the current ruling that only a sin bin can activate the 18th man...
