    Steve Matai for me.. FOR memory one of his first NRL games was against the Dragons at Wynn stadium as soon as I saw him I thought he is going to be a high quality first grader. I think he has done that and more.

    Should Lyon retire?

    Lyon Snake and Matai will all be gone by end of 2017. Its a tough situation for me unless Lyon is prepared to play 5/8 next year then unfortunately this year will be his last season. In regards to Matai he is busted he cant handle 80min each week anymore and B Stewart hammies and knee issues...

    As far as I am aware Brett has one more year to go in his contract which he only just extended recently to end of 2017.     Manly players off contract 2016:

    We have a QUALITY centre in our under 20's Jesse Ramien. Hopefully he is ready to step up next year and possibly solve our centre issues.

    Lyon hoping to extend career with Manly

    Jamie Lyon has been a champion BUT the only way id give him one more year is he if he moved to 5/8 permanently and Dylan walker moves to the centres. As a 5/8 his Jamie want be exposed with his pace. Then in 2018 hopefully Tom Wright is ready for 1st grade as a 5/8.

    This year look very much like last season. We need to be at least 5/10 to have any hope of making the top 8 this year. The 4 players out tonight will all be in our top 17. Once all are back we need to win 3-4 in a row.

    Dylan Walker

    Spot on Flip. Matai is a champion but he missed several tackles in the 1st half. He also cost us win against Nth QLD last year when he missed an easy tackle with 2min to go that directly lead to there winning try. I haven't forgotten. The poor bloke is playing with one arm he is so busted up...

    B Stewart is a champion of our club BUT tonight he was poor. I know he has another year to go BUT I have to say I agree with GOD he looks old and slow. WHAT do we do now my feathered friends ?

    Shaun "Exit" Lane mega thread.

    So im hearing the dogs are releasing him to the Warriors as part of a player swap. Why aren't we going for this Kid. Jake T , Taupau, Liam Knight plus Shaun lane would form an awesome pack for the next 5-7 years. I really rate Shaun lane I hope Bozo does also.

    Manly Heart & Spirit

    The roosters last try IMO was a forward pass that rolled a meter forward also, every commentator said it was forward pass except the touch judge. Perhaps the NO TRY which was a 50/50 call anyway went our way cause there last try certainly went the roosters way. The 5 day turnaround killed us...

    I'd consider Konrad Hurrell as a centre option, seems on the outer with the Warriors.. When switched on he is dynamic powerhouse.

    GAME DAY - Manly v Bulldogs [Round 1, 2016]

    Id have Tom Symonds ahead of Leary as a utility type player on the bench at the moment. In saying that I would have thought 2 props as a minimum for dogs game preferably 3 with Parcel as 4th interchange. I guess once Buhrer returns he will be our usual utility type player on the bench.

    Liam Knight unders 20's front rower played in GF. In my opinion is going to be a star..Let's hope we retain him long term before the roosters grab him...I think Will play a number of first grade games in 2016...

    Correct..Jamie Lyon is as gifted footballer you will ever see and Matai is the toughest.. Hodges is good but Lyon and Matai are just better..
