There was an article saying that Ponga's last 2 years on his Knights contract states that he can only leave IF Knights win the comp. I I'd be surprised if we bought any more forwards. With Bullemore and Davey back in and the re signing of Boyle we are stacked! Definitely short an outside back though and that should be our priority.- The better Robbo

Yeah and its a void argument. We don't know anyones value in 2 years. Same goes with Turbo, if he misses 2 more years with hammy issues then that could end his career but I guarantee people will still be taking the risk signing him long term!!! Latu Fainu is 16! Even when Chez retires age 36 he would still only be 20. Or are you saying he should be our halfback when he is 18? Only time will tell I guess but its a bit like the house prices at the moment. Its a supply and demand issue... There is bugger all good halves out there so why would we let ours go? So every club should just sign players to 1 or 2 year contracts? Cos after all we don't know what form they'll be in or what injuries they'll have in the future. Leilua and Papalii are asking for 700k. Lodge on more than that. Ben Hunt 1 mil. Townsend nearly 700k. Chez is worth more than them. You are worth what someone is willing to pay. Only time will tell I guess.- The better Robbo

So what is a reasonable price for Chez's extension? Its all speculation about him signing for the same money. My bet is it would have to be a reduced contract and at 1 mil a season for our and QLD Captain in this current climate is a good signing even if he is to be 36 by the end of it. The point being that we can't afford to wait. If Dolphins offer big money and we lost Chez, we could be left with nobody and that would be a disaster. An additional 2 years apparently. I also highly doubt it would still be on his current salary. Chez is as fit as anyone that has ever played the game, he would be 36 but the elite can keep playing at that age. Maybe he's a late bloomer haha- The better Robbo

Off contract players - back up FB?
Funny story... when I was playing U18 Raiders we got fines for being late or missing training gear etc. At the end of the year you had to either pay the fines or do a nudie run around the oval after training with all grades and parents watching from the carpark.
