Game Day: Tigers v Manly [Round 7, 2021]

Croker is so hopeless - lucky we haven’t had more drops. He is bloody useless it makes me so angry watching him.

    PRE-GAME DISCUSSION: Tigers v Manly [Round 7, 2021]

Tough game this one. Tigers will look to bounce back and we might have one eye on the Panthers the following week.

It would be a bad look if they made him play and he got injured.

    Sipley - Impact

Good player for high energy 15 minute stints.

Does Schuster become the backrower we need?

This is a brilliant introduction to first grade. It is teaching him the value of defence and respect for the work of the forwards. He is learning a bunch off Foran about setting up the outside men, straightening the attack, taking the line on and hole running. The biggest advantage though is...

    The Haumole Bible.

He looked a bit off the pace yesterday if I’m honest. Needs some match fitness and time. Was encouraged by his willingness to get involved.

Game Day: Manly v Titans [Round 6, 2021]

Had to watch it late after I had non-football friends over. What an awesome performance. It was great to see so many players supporting each other in attack and playing for each other in defence. Great signs.

    PRE-GAME DISCUSSION: Manly v Titans [Round 6, 2021]

Let’s not worry about the Titans. They should be worried about Guac running off Foz. Holy Dooly that sounds good.

    Manly Centres an issue

I think you get more out of your wingers and edge forwards in the modern game. Having great centres of course is always good, but its a bit of a luxury given our investment in the spine and middle forwards (hopefully). At least with Parker he isn't a player the opposition will target. I'd be...

    massive cleanout at season's end

The club needs to replace a few of its younger players that aren't up to NRL standard yet with established depth. I would keep quite a few guys for the right price. Parker for example isn't going to command much coin but is a very handy 18th-20th player.

    Parker.

He still spilt the ball twice and looked panicked whenever he got a quick play the ball or offload on what to do. There was a set where we were attacking the line and he picked it up and sucked in the markers a bit that I liked though. Defensively he was fine.

    Garrick

I posted in the game thread that there was a noticable difference to the start of our sets after he moved to fullback. His carries back really gave us some momentum, setting up our attack and allowed us to make much better meters in our sets.

    Getting Back On Track

Don't forget we ran into a stiff breeze all second half and almost crossed over 3 more times in the first.

    Parker.

Agreed, he was excellent. Lots of crucial one on one tackles and he took the hard hit ups when we were pinned in the corner - to some success too.

Game Day: Warriors v Manly [Round 5, 2021]

Garrick’s kick returns really helped start our sets up well too with a bit of momentum, credit to him for that.

Game Day: Warriors v Manly [Round 5, 2021]

Morgan Harper is a team man. He was encouraging everyone. Little efforts. Keep him in there.

The NRL Economist: Biggest and smallest clubs amid league's trimming-down trend

Service from dummy half. They have to run over the markers after getting the ball flat footed too often.

    PRE-GAME DISCUSSION: Warriors v Manly [Round 5, 2021]

Tonight is Marty’s chance to show what he’s worth and rip in, especially with the injuries to the Warriors pack. I hope he is fired up and leads our team to a much needed win.

    C. Sironen

We are missing him at the moment. Before his injury last season he was up there with the best in the league. I went to the Titans game in 2019 and he tore them to pieces. He was also close to our best vs Canberra in that big win last year. He’s our best edge defender with a big motor and takes...
