    My old footy club used to do a wives/gf round where a marquee would be set up on the sideline and the ladies would be treated to free champagne, finger food etc. I guess this constitutes a “women in league” round.

    Beautifully written, brings a tear to the eye… maybe I’m just getting old and sentimental… I started going to Brookie in the early ‘80s and just loved Mr Excitement machine Phil Blake… practised the chip over the top in the backyard… ahhhh memories :)

    As a Chelsea fan I found that a very enjoyable watch but yes Manly have an absent owner who spends as little as possible to keep the club running. We are just lucky that the govt funds occasional improvements to the ground.
