Pretty sure Jazz and Toff would have been on pretty minimal deals. I don’t think we have as much cap to play with next year as you might think.

We do, but who on the market right now fits what we need? We have salary cap being freed up in 2027. We need some one year stop gaps.

As I’ve said in the Nostradamus thread, I wouldn’t be going after any of the names currently being quoted as off-contract on long-term deals; they’re either the same as what we’ve already got or a step backwards. Looking at our players coming off contract in 2026, the only ones I’d probably...

If you expect them to just blab the whole truth to the media you’re very naive.

Up until now I was convinced he was staying. Heard something today that’s made me rethink that. Can’t say much more — but I wouldn’t be getting too comfortable if I was on the coaching staff.

Who though? Anyone still unsigned is more of the same or worse than what we currently have. Better to keep two spots open and hope there’s some movement mid year next year, otherwise grab some journeymen on one year deals and have a proper crack at some higher quality players in ‘27.

    2026 ( the Nostradamus thread )

They always had a strong forward pack and their young spine is where they improved, Fogarty also missed a big chunk of last year with injury. We have the opposite problem, an experienced spine where I see limited improvement potential and a dads army forward pack that make no impact whatsoever.

    2026 ( the Nostradamus thread )

I don’t think I’d be rushing to sign any of the names still floating around. Yeah, we need middles, but none of them are a clear upgrade on what we’ve already got. Bigger picture though; if you look at who’s coming off contract in 2026, Croker’s probably the only one I wouldn’t mind seeing go...

I think Schoupp got that bench spot solely because he can play 2nd row in a pinch.

Zaidas Muagututia (18, Hooker, Supplementary List) “Zaidas joins us on a two-year deal after playing Jersey Flegg for Canterbury and representing the NSW City U18s side this season. He played Harold Matthews Cup with Parramatta (2022-23). Zaidas is somebody who we have been tracking for a...

Per NRL contract registry Zaidas Muagututia is in the top 30 in 2026 Also can’t find anything confirming Large will be in the top 30?

Looking at the team on paper, I don’t think we are a serious chance next year, if we have some signings targets and a bunch of cap space for 2027 then a transition year may not be the worst. I’d personally prefer Tooves as a caretaker for a year in that scenario, but can see the logic of just...
