01 Sep 2003 - Outgoing Manly coach Peter Sharp has warned the club will continue to struggle next season unless his replacement, Des Hasler, is given more resources on and off the field. Hasler, one of Manly's favourite sons, will have a bigger staff next year with Queenslander Dennis Moore as his assistant, Auckland under-20s coach Mark Gardner joining the club and Noel Cleal taking over recruitment.

28 Sep 03 - New Manly coach Des Hasler has surrounded himself with a winning culture after securing the assistance of a number of former internationals and premiership winners for next season. Joining Hasler on the coaching staff at the Sea Eagles are Mark Carroll, Steve Roach, Geoff Toovey and Les Boyd. Bob Fulton is tipped to help in an unofficial capacity, while Cliff Lyons is deliberating over an offer to help the backs.

11 Jan 04 - Hasler recruited strength and conditioning coach Donny Singe from rugby union in Japan and his results in beefing up the Sea Eagles have been startling.

Donny does seem to get players to the right level of fitness. There was that one season (2010 ??) that we constantly faded in the back end of games for some reason, but apart from that we are generally always physically capable of going the distance.

From memory Donny didn't have full control of fitness and supps that year did he? Wasn't there some experimental training program going on? Tailored diets and training and what not?

I don't think Donny was at the club in 2010. We tried some science thing, it failed so they got him back for 2011

Pretty sure he was there, and it was simply a change in pre-season training plans that didn't work, and was changed for the following year.

Some media tidbits from 2010 with Singe mentioned;

16 Jan 10 - Manly Daily - Now they have nightmares featuring Manly's fulltime head conditioner, Donny Singe the compact former Kiwi navy commando who drives the squad for every second of every session. Singe changes the minds and bodies of the young men and is tipping big things for the 2010 graduates.

20 Feb 10 - Manly Daily - A FEW weeks ago I revealed ex-Sea Eagle, NSW and Australian centre Terry Hill was on a fitness campaign under Sea Eagles conditioning guru Donny Singe.

08 Apr 10 - The Australian - The manufacturer of the muscle-stimulation machines, Compex Australia, boasts a number of testimonials on its website. These include...Sea Eagles strength and conditioning coach Donny Singe.
