The stats are pretty damming and obvious for everyone to see.

Currently on 20 points with 2 games to go after failing in 2015 on 26 points.

Our worst season since the dark cloud that was the Northern Beagles in 2003.

As our leaders and owners have said. This is a results driven business.

How long will Barret have in 2017 before he is moved on for a Manly bred coach?

I love Tooves but we finished on 26 points in 2015, not 30.

If Manly don't start the season with 5-6 injuries again in 2017 - especially Key Positions & results are similar after 12 rounds - will be tough to handle - I think they will be in the 8 or better, as some great resolve is being hurt by main players unavailable recently - not effort - this indicates the players are still tight as a group & won't be surprised with a win next week against the Raiders...

Which Manly-bred coach currently in our ranks would you replace him with?

Luke Williamson
Chad Randall
Brett/Scott Fulton
John Hopoate

Hasler is under contract and Toovey is not an option for the current owners, so they are both out of the picture.

Ivan Cleary has at least played for us, he'd be one as an option BUT I bet McFadden gets sacked at the Warriors and he'll go back there......maybe!!

Don't know if he's interested. But Jason King is someone I'd like to see coaching in our lower ranks now. Not the worlds best footballer, and they often make the best coaches, but he's been around the game, but non the less a very intelligent man. Those book and business smarts of his combined with his knowledge of the game see him well placed to continue our former captains being our coaches.

Get rid of Cartwright as assistant & replace him with either Cliffy or Beaver!!!

Manly will never be the same again under this NRL.

1. The NRL fixed the draw so that Manly must now play every Sydney club away every season. Was easier to get 2 points up for win facing Cows or Warriors away than Shark Park, Kogarah, Parra Stadium, Penrith, Dogs, Souths, Roosters, Leichardt Oval. But now Manly get most of our away games against Sydney teams at their fortresses which means right from the start we 6 or 8 points worse off on the points table - enough to miss the top 8 finals.
2. The NRL salary cap ensures that success is followed by failure.

The only good news will be if we avoid the spoon each year.

Let Manly be Manly. Get rid of the cap & let our 1970s & 80s glamour club come back. Would the Liverpool FC or Manchester be any good under a cap? The NRL has ruined Manly's brand.

Lewis brown is the only player to play ever game this year. We have been injury riddle, if we stayed fit we would be in the 8. Plus add the few games we lost due to goal kicking

They were the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles by 2003. However yes, that was a pretty poor season, lightened only by the resignation of the likes of Blunty and Magilla and the appointment of Des for the 2004 season.

Considering the overnight epl scores maybe there is a better example than Liverpool

I'd be looking at Cleary

If, like the top 4 teams, we played nearly all the season with a mostly fit lineup like this.
1. B Stewart
2. J Taufua
3. D Walker
4. S Matai
5. T Trbojevic
6. J Lyon
7. D Cherry-Evans
8. D Lussick
9. A Korosai or M Parcell
10. N Myles
11. M Taupau
12. J Buhrer
13. J Trbojevic

14. S Vave
15. A Fonua- Blake
16. J Starling
17. L Brown

Do we still think we wouldn't be in the 8.
I'd bet we'd be sitting in 6th with our form getting better and better while teams like Donkeys Cows Gummies are struggling.
