Just on Saab - I'm still not convinced his injury is as bad as it had been reported. I've noted a couple of times that I saw him at one of our last home games with just a minor limp, no brace, no crutches. Of course, we've not seen any injury update from the club so who knows. Have you seen any updates anywhere?
Not at this stage @Seagles68 I have been relying on the highly efficient MWSE communications team to provide these important updates.@ However, I think they have been busy plugging up all the leaks from other departments.;)

Of course @SeaEagleRock8 This is yet another occasion where I agree with you 100%. Obviously, Mestrov does as well. There is an obvious opportunity for Turbo and Garrick to switch roles at any time. Add Koula into the mix and things could get very confusing for the opposition.

And Weekes, if he turns out to be as good as he seems to be developing. But then they have to tie him up as well

All we need now is a committed forward pack.

I think the backs will be fine , not world beaters but fine.

But our forward pack is now missing a couple ( in my opinion ).

As to who ????

Certainly the potential is there.

But it’s our forwards where we aren’t strong, Jake alone can’t do it !!

I was recently looking for a way to bet on sports using Skrill. Has anyone used this payment system? I read about Skrill at Australian casinos, I was interested in it. I even tried to deposit money - and it worked! Now I will always recommend this system. Skrill is really convenient, give it a try.
The potential is always there.
And victory is often given to the more diligent and talented than to the merely talented.
But we all know about the dark horses who became champions against all expectations. For example, Greece won the European Football Championship about 10 years ago (or how many?), playing all (or almost all) matches 1 - 0. No one expected that, but it happened.

I'm not really Mal Cochrane...
What's wrong with Parker, solid one on one defender, doe's the tough carries coming of our line and runs great lines when close to the try line in attack.
I agree with you, so then thought what is my issue.

And I feel it's that he rarely initiates attacking plays.

Give him the ball and he is not going to make space for a support player to benefit from. He is not a player who can make something of nothing. His defence is fine, his hole running is fine, just zero x factor. You know what you are gonna get from him.

Maybe every club needs that type of centre and 2nd rower?

I actually stated this about Parker as well, but it's comforting to know that he's so darn reliable when we are under the pump and tackles that need to be made. That's where Parker excels.

He’ll be a great reserve to have , but that’ll be about it I’d say.

I sense there were high expectations with young Burbo, and that he hasnt exploded onto the scene like his brothers, Turbo in particular. But what I like about Burbo is at 21, is already 1.93 mts tall and 105 kgs and has shown when he is fit that he is quite fast and a good defender. He will develop and I think he'll make a pretty decent lock or second rower. Most good forwards dont stand out until their mid 20s, so he's got time to develop. Injury has interfered with his progress in recent years but that's not unusual for a young footballer. He'll harden. I wouldnt dismiss him

Injured, mismanaged and one of the most affected players impacted by the Covid ruined lower grades comps. Having a past connection with Schuster you would think he has an opportunity going forward and a generous development ceiling in the next few years. I hope they work out if he is a forward or a back as it’s not clear yet and we saw what that did to schuster.

I think he'd make a great back row partner for Mole in a similar role on the other side.

He had an ACL reconstruction didn't he?

I can't remember the timeline of mine, but when I had it done it stabilizes pretty quickly and you can walk short distances and even jog in a straight line. It's the lateral movement that's the killer. Statistically speaking the more time he spends in rehab the less chance of reinjury.

So I just read an article on the Club website from when his contract was extended and he said this:

Saab said he was comfortable where he was at in terms of running again soon.

“I have got a lot of range back in the knee, it’s very strong and stable,’’ Saab said.

“I’m really confident that it won’t be a problem when I come back.”

It doesn't say he had a recon, just an "ACL injury". Either way, it sounds like he's making good progress for the new year.

I’m fairly positive on the squad next year. A few thoughts below.

1) 2nd row concerns me - I’d start Tuilagi off the bench as I think he would add more value as an impact player, he and Haumole on either edge might force sides to spread a little wider in defence - creating opportunities for metres when playing direct. I’m concerned about our depth here though, would like another honest genuine edge forward.

2) I’d probably like to see Ben Turbo developed into a centre this year, Saab doesn’t have it on kick returns, maybe try Koula on the wing and Ben Turbo in the centres at some stage.

3) Hooker and halves depths looks concerning, especially with Schuster not being the most durable player thus far. Would be great if we could find an experienced bargain or two in these positions; is Segeyaro still with Blacktown (not much on the market here)?
