6pm Friday timeslot

The Who

Journey Man
Well, Almost 7,500 of us - including 15 happy Titan fans - bothered to turn up for the match. It was the only game on, so getting there early made for 'riveting' viewing.
This timeslot sucks, especially at Brookie, around which much of the parking is restricted to at least 6pm, and to 7pm on the main thoroughfare.
The result proved as disappointing as the crowd. Compounding this was to see 25,000 spectators at the grand Newcastle Stadium at the much more easily managed timeslot of 8pm.
I love Brookie, and I applaud that there is now a much better sound system on the Hill. The downside is that the speakers, which are placed at around 30-metre intervals, restrict some of the view.
Our club should rail against playing in this timeslot at Brookie because it is so hard to find parking prior to 7pm weeknights.
Actually, I think the NRL should scrap the timeslot and transfer it to a Sunday, at 12-noon.

Left work early and it still took over an hour to get to Brookie from Balmain. Fortunately I have the flexibility to leave work early, many others wouldn’t making it impossible to get to the game by kick off

I was going to try and get there and couldn’t get out of work till 5:30.

That would give me 30min to stand in a queue at Wynyard, get on a B1 bus, get off at Warringah mall get on the 199 get off at Brookie then get to the hill.

This actually takes 1h and 25min. So buy the ticket me I got to the game it really wouldn’t be worth it.

Let’s face it the 6pm time slot is nothing more than a ratings time slot that the fans just have to suck up. It makes no sense for the supporter whom wants to watch it live, not that the NRL care what the fans think, unless you a teenage girl whom plays touch footy.

I had to leave work I the city at 3 to get home, get the kids from after school care and get down there. It's a dumb time for a game

I like that thought a lot. 6pm makes no sense, and I’m not sure that timing is great for ratings with crowds or tv ratings. The EPL have a midday kickoff that is proven to draw crowds, and TV ratings. As usual (as I have boringly stated more times than I care to keep count), the NRL is in the dark ages when it comes to developing a coherent strategy and understanding fan preferences.
