Has significantly improved in 2017....
Barrett has really identified what was needed to be up with the best attacking teams in the comp and this is where it starts.
Only 2 years the Manly pack had big lugs ambling into defence with no support and most part, being dominated to a slow play ball.
Amazing what can happen in a short time because its from the outhouse to the penthouse since that time.
The players are winning collisions, grabbing extra metres post contact and winning the ruck.
Also pushing up in support with the ball carrier, with 2nd phase and inside balls a highlight in 2017 and only improving...
After winning the middle third - Api, DCE, Green and of course Tom floating around, are creating massive opportunities.
Then you have the right side with Walkers feet with space, giving opposition defence nightmares.
The best thing with winning the ruck - you create the tempo of game speed to yourself...
Time to kick - attack pushing up adds to a great chase...opposition defence loses shape, holes over the shop, short right or left, making an easy count for the halves to create and time for DCE/Green to slide for a halves play together rather than the right/left textbook....
As fans it means points, field position and better entertainment....this ruck improvement is the catalyst to Manly's success in 2017.
