What a dreadful team.

Sad thing is its the best we have. I cant make a single suggestion from available players that would improve the side.

Lets hope they make a game of it.

Maroons have carried on like prima donnas lately especially their team naming yesterday. Their arrogance will bring them down this year. This blues team is actually picked on form for once. GO BLUES!!!!!!

However the 4 backrow bench players are better than scott, and there are a few others out there too. Maybe also Hoffman is lucky to be there.

Look it really is one of the better teams NSW could field. Im glad Pearce is gone, he is average at best. I like Hodko, he doesn't do anything fancy but he can kick and defend well. Reynolds is a grub but he is a competitor and i think he will do ok. I like Hayne at fullback and the rest of the backline is strong. Farah has been playing great but some of our forwards are average, if they can have a good game we may have a chance. Hopefully Trex actually does something.

Well, Bird, Corner and FFFahita were all ruled out, and reportedly there first if fit or not suspended ( ie. Bird ).

Can't see them winning but stranger things happen.

Josh Starling rounding up a speedster in Mamo proves that at least.

Just hope Choc (and Cherry) don't get seriously injured most of all.

Congrats to Choc and DCE on their selections. Also congrats and good luck to Hodko and TDog. No ill feelings to those 2 we couldn't keep them and I'm glad we contributed to their success. I did say when Hodko played that great season with us before DCE took over that he would play SOO one day.

Choc will waste his body on this :s

Why would Merrin be there

Glad they had the sense to change the halves. Dogs combination should help Daley gel the Team quickly.

1) How t-rex is there is totally beyond me. You can't tell me there isn't ONE nsw player that would even try a bit harder than him. Total joke.

2) Lewis.....I'm not a total fan, nor am I against him. I just think his time is done. Maybe smarter people can set me straight (though not you guys, I'm totally 300 IQ points smarter than you)

3)ummmm...I forget what 3 was....oh yeah...Jennings! I keep hearing how amazingly fast he is...but he has like 2 line breaks in the 4 million origin games he has played. If he is really the best person for that position....shouldn't nsw design a game plan to get him into more gaps????questionmark

He has no aggression though. In SOO you need the niggle and the biff like J Grahame or SB.

Anyway, they are our Team so at least we have somrhing different to cheer ;)
Merrin was in my team HM.
Thought he's been going ok in a crap side.

I just don't think either Cherry or Choc should be there.

Seriously, how do you justify having a 2nd specialist halfback on the bench and if Choc's form of late is among the best three in the competition then I'm a bad judge.

There should be no Manly players in either squads!!!!!!

So, is it correct that the only game/s that Manly will benefit from playing a team that will be Origin-depleted is the game against the Bulldogs (4 July, before 9 July Origin game) and the Tigers (11 July, after the same game)? Do we benefit at all from the first 2 games in which we play the Broncos and Sharks after Origin games?

Yes ..... we benefit by having byes before Origins 1 and 2.

Being a blues supporter, these days I;

1. Prepare for the worst (another series loss)
2. Hope for the best (an unlikely win)

Go the BLUES!!!

dunno what all the fuss about our salary cap is.....we've got 2 players in origin....both on the bench!!

Lot's of club combos there

Morris'ssesss'ssss
Jennings / Tupou
Hodko / Reynolds
Woods / Farah
Lewis / Gallen
Scott / Merrin
Choc / Rex

Hopefully taht means something, probably not considering the maroons have even more inbreeding than us.

I'm worried about who will be steering the good ship NSW Blues, and calling the shots. Hodko can defend and kick well, good enough for Origin level I think on those counts. But does he have the smarts/experience to drive the game and co-ordinate the attack ?? I'm not convinced he does. Hayne and Reynolds have million dollar abilities with 10c heads, just as likely to win us the game as lose it with some stupid low percentage play. So that only leaves Farah to do the tactical stuff. He's been in good form and maybe running the game from dummy half is smart from our point of view, he can determine who gets the ball and when, just a matter of whether his decision making is up to the task.

I think Queensland should be deserved favourites based on team selections, outside of some Hayne individual brilliance I don't see where our points are going to come from. Maybe someone has worked out how to flick T-Rex's switch....we can only hope.

Bad luck Taufua (probably did himself no favours with last night's catching display) but very happy we only have two bench players in the two sides (remarkable considering we are clear second).

Interesting team. At least most seem to have been picked on form.

What will NSW do if they get smashed in Game 1 and the Hodkinson/Reynolds duo are totally outplayed by Cronk and JT? That fear that Pearce will be back for Game 2 is always there.

Some here are saying Choc doesn't deserve to be there, and on his form this season they may well have a point. But I can't see him letting anyone down, even if NSW lose again, and I thought he went ok last night. The good thing for us (Manly) is that both Cherry and Choc are on the bench, though as a forward Choc will probably play more than DCE barring injury.

I still think Qld will win, but this will be closer than most think.
