A few years ago Manly was fined $100,000 for bringing the game into disrepute when Brett Stewart had a few drinks and decided he'd better catch a cab home after our season launch.

Players have been suspended and drummed out of the NRL for bringing the game into disrepute.

How much should the Bulldogs pay?

Should be at least half a million. Some clubs tend to have more problems than others when it comes to crowd behaviour at matches. If the Dogs matches are going to feature this sort of behaviour don't beat around the bush, kick them out of the competition.

The game is so damned rooted that this incident hardly brings it into disrepute. Given Toddy boys record, they'll probably fine Manly, and fire Tooves..

They should lose the revenue of say 50 pokies for the rest of the year.
Half a million just seemed a little light.

Been pretty clean for a while which is good considering our demographic. Might have been WSW fans:)

Bulldogs are not responsible for inventing fan thuggery, but given their history they have a responsibility to foster civilised attitudes and good sportsmanship among their fans. Having James Graham and Klemmer standing over referees gesticulating hysterically is just the kind of behaviour to whip up crowd emotion. Hasler's penchant for focussing on referees hardly helps either.

Agree. And Graham's fiery arguing with the ref in the 1st half too wasn't any better. I'm sure his over-the-top behaviour fired up the fans and I don't think Grub Graham has the demeanour or deserves to be their captain.

As for Dogs fans - shame shame shame! Supposedly a 'family' club and what a fine example they've shown. Many of the them there would've come over from the R.E. Show and seen the disgraceful spectacle at the end. Yes, they've definitely brought the game into disrepute!

NSW Police: Media Reports Correction

Inquiries are continuing after a number of incidents following a football match at Sydney Olympic Park today (Friday 3 April 2015).
Reports a referee was hit by a bottle while leaving the field at Stadium Australia tonight are incorrect.
The match official was avoiding a bottle which had been thrown from the crowd when he slipped.
He was assisted to his feet and moved to the officials room.
A second official sustained a shoulder injury after falling. Inquiries are continuing to verify the circumstances leading up to the official being injured.
Two people were arrested for assault – one of these was for domestic violence offences.
In the second matter, a man is assisting with inquiries in relation to the alleged assault of another male. That person was taken to hospital further assessment.
Two people have been identified for allegedly throwing bottles and police will be taking legal action against them. Inquiries to identify others involved are continuing.
Four people were also ejected from the ground and two others were refused entry.
Canterbury Bulldogs along with the NRL officials are working towards banning these individuals from all NRL fixtures
As with all events NSW Police work with the NRL and involved clubs to ensure a safe venue where anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.

The fine and Brett's suspension we were slugged with in 2009 for that which turned out be a total fabrication was unfair, it nearly destroyed Brett and it destroyed the first 2 months of that season when we were 2 wins from 8 games to start the season.

The dogs have had many incidents with crowd trouble from the last 20 years or so. The anti social behaviour is well known by fans of other clubs too. The NRL has to censure the club for not controlling the fans and an apt punishment would be to make them play one home game behind closed doors and hit them where it hurts. Fans need to feel safe when they go to a match, going to a dogs home game you do not feel safe.

This is a real test for Greenturd, is he going to rule in the interests of the game or the interests of the dogs?

This bullsh/t about them being a family club is way past it's use by date, sure, they had a couple of sets of brothers playing in the eighties, but family club?, please.

Despite having the connection to dick head greenturd the dogs are going to get a huge fine, I'm very certain of that.
