I took the car in for some new tyres across the road from Brookie and had an hour to kill so I popped over the road to the op shop and grabbed a second hand footy. Headed straight to Brookie to practice my 40/20s and saw the ground was shut

I was really amazed at how good the ground looked. With that rain a few weeks ago and no games it looks the best I’ve seen it.

I’ve been to a number of NRL and Rugby games this year and I can’t remember seeing a better looking surface. It looks a lot different to what it did in March when I had a walk on there with the kids.

Was a dark day when they stopped me from practicing my chipping there. Oh well "the greater good" ... oval is looking magnificent.

The council or club have hired a security guard to make sure no one is going on the field. I wonder if this will always happen in the week leading up to a game, or just to keep the school holiday kids off.

Say on the hill today and not only was tong grass on the pitch in great condition, but the grass on the hill was so lush. I took the shoes off and and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
