In a move set to rock the Rugby League World, suspended Melbourne captain Cam Smith has announced he that he has signed a contract to play with the Parramatta Eels from 2010.
A gleeful Parramatta CEO Denis Fitzgerald confirmed the announcement on his weekly "meet and greet" street walk down Church Street this morning where he held an audience with the usual coterie of brunken bums who still care about the fortunes of the club now enduring a 22 year Premiership drought.
"Can Smith's signing for the Eels is a match made in heaven" said Fitzgerald told Roy Masters lolling on a bench with his two friends in the world.
"They both choke in finals football".
