MANLY Leagues Club is the place to be tonight when the Sea Eagles host their inaugural trivia night.

Co-captain Jamie Lyon, cult interchange prop George Rose and a handful of other first graders will be on hand to mingle with fans from 7pm.

A club spokesperson said Geoff Toovey’s men always relish the chance to interact with the public.

“It’ll be a lot of fun in a relaxed atmosphere and fans will the chance to get to know, and maybe outsmart, some of their favourite players,” she said.

“The team is really looking forward to it and we hope it’s a huge success.”

NSW quartet Jamie Buhrer, Brett Stewart, Glenn Stewart and Tony Williams will miss the function due to Origin commitments as will Queensland’s 18th man, Daly Cherry-Evans.

Apart from a sprinkling of NRL players, numerous NSW Cup representatives have agreed to roll up to take part in the fun.

Throw in legends such as Cliff Lyons and Toovey, and it looms as a night not to be missed.

The idea behind the night is to provide supporters with a new level of player interaction.

The winning table will take home a Sea Eagles merchandise pack worth $150, with raffles and silent auctions also to be run and won.

Raffle tickets will be $2 each or 10 for $10, with the grand prize two tickets in the dugout for the Dragons’ visit on June 1, valued at $400.

A cap signed by the entire, 25-strong roster will also be up for grabs, as will a Fuji finepix digital camera.

Walk-up seating will be available but it is advised those attending book in advance.

Tables of 10 cost $350, with members $40.

Great spread in the Manly daily today.

This is what the Locals need to alert them to the fact that they have a Premiership NRL side.

Well done the Club

The Daily have incorrectly named Geoff Toovey and Cliff Lyons as attending. Please take this as notice they will not be there!

Cheers & Go Manly!
