Really delivered tonight. Showed great composure, got involved a hell of a lot and was safe as houses under the high ball.

On that performance alone he moves well ahead of Jorge for the left hand wing position IMHO.

I've had a wrap on this kid. Big, tall, strong. Safe as houses, runs like a back rower and can score a try. With the way the game is played these days (ie wingers need to play like backrowers) I think he's a very good option.

Also he seems calm and composed.

Was pleased when I heard we had signed him and he didn't disappoint this year in his limited opportunities. Blair has the physical attributes with height and size to be a asset on the wing in both attack and defence. While he isn't a speed freak, he possesses enough to finish off tries. He defuses and competes for high balls, brings the ball back strong and as others have mentioned showed great composure last night. He just does the basics well. I believe he has a good shot at securing a wing spot next year.

Cheyse is a solid and reliable performer and I do hope that he gets more chances next season.

I would have liked to have seen him given more game time towards the end of the season, Taufua has been struggling for weeks!

Next 3 years I believe. Jorge never recovered from that shoulder injury at the beginning of the year! Will come back better next year IMO.

I agree Jorge will be back whether its on the wing. I still would like to see him train up for the backrow, he is too heavy and doesn't have the wing qualities, but could end up as a very good backrower for the club especially if Watmough goes.
Blair I can see maybe move into the centres, he could even play as well in the forwards as he is a big man, he was lucky he was not put under pressure for any bombs like poor Jorge was but his defence needs work as he did let one in as he was not in position and I don't think he is quick enough to get back. I have watched in Cup as well. If we were playing Souths more tries would have been scored on our edges and more bombs would have gone up. The club still has no decent fast specialised wingers and that could be a problem for next season as both Hiku and Blair are only fill ins.

Besides the lack of experience in 1st grade, the only thing that I can pick him up on is his passing from dummy-half. Most of the dummy-half passes seem to be a little bit too flat and bordering on forward. Other than that, he is a great find as far as I'm concerned and he will only get better with a bit more 1st grade experience under his belt. Hopefully Tooves will use him as a supplement to Matty B next year like Stranger used to be used back in the day when he was with us.

I'm a big fan of Blair and think he is needed in the squad. I've also been critical of Taufau this year because I don't think he's been playing well, but at his best he has a place in the squad as well. I congratulate Tooves for making a tough call, Jorge hasn't been playing well. Nothing wrong with dropping him. He'll be back stronger than ever. And we need a strong 25. Not just a strong 17.

They are not fast and have no idea in positional defence. Blair got put into touch, he should be in the forwards, Hiku and Blair are not quick enough.
