Isn't this the Perth game that Cliffy was left on the interchange bench? They flew him all the way to Perth & then just left him sitting there all game. Think he went to reserve grade after that & he only got back into firsts due to an injured player. But in the last few rounds he somehow got Manly into the 1993 semis, won the Dally M in 1994 & kept on going for rest of Manly's great decade. But that Perth game was so very close to being his last.

Just checked that site http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/seasons/NSWRL_1993/Manly_Warringah/summary.html and Cliffy was there for the rest of the season. Funny how the memory gets stuff wrong. I thought for sure he went to reserves. Maybe he got picked in reserves after that Sharks game & someone dropped out on game day against Norths.
