Time for a bit of showing off. What is your claim to fame? Who have you played a sport with, that is a whole lot more talented than yourself, that has gone on to bigger and better things?

I played school boy footy with Chris Ryan, who went on to play with the Western Reds. Did he play a few games for us before hand?

I went to school with Kris Watson who played a few games for Newcastle.

I also played cricket with Phil Hughes at Sawtell (just south of Coffs Harbour).

Thats about all I've got I think.
Bet there are plenty more on here though.

haha - shot down - nice one Cambo :D

I remember a Chris Ryan - a blondie from memory on the wing/centres.

Fair Player in the early 90's - this has his record:

I went to school with Chad Randall and Nathan Hedge (surfer).
Not that that is much of a claim to fame

A claim to fame for tooves is that he did little athletics with me, and some junior league. Ivan cleary would be similarly proud to have attended my school.

When I was in 5th grade we had a new student join our class. Rough looking toughnut kid. He played a bit of Footy and had the nickname Chocco for some odd reason.

:) Any guesses who it was?

Cousin in law was world junior surfing champion (U18's) in 2009 and a pro-surfer.

He is a really down to earth bloke as well but cant go a sentance without a narly or stoked in there.

Mundane?

Played junior footy with Cuthbo at Avalon Bulldogs. He was a 2nd grade specialist.....nothing much has changed.

I once sat on the same lounge as John English at my aunty's house in Farifield. My second cousin peed on him and he always thought that that was his big break as he just got the role of Judas in JC Superstar in 1970 then.

John sat on the lounge in 1970 I sat on it in about 1977. By the way the pee had fully dried properly.

Played against Brad Fittler and his High School team (McCarthy High) I scored three tries and received man of the match in a 7 a side schoolboys league tournament final in Newcastle in 1990.

I've spoken to him since and he remembers it but I guess you could say he kicked on with his career more than I did. hahahaha

Also had a drink with Jon Bon Jovi backstage before a New Jersey tour concert in Sydney around the same time.

I once stopped Toovey from getting into a fight in a pub. He was so pumped that I had to hold him back. Not that I had any chance of stopping him if he wanted to bash the other guy. A real eye opener into how drunk dicks can goad players into a fight.

Was Chad always trying to sneak down the blind side in the tuckshop queue?

I went to school with ex Manly, Wests, Penrith, Roosters, Gold coast, Crushers, NSW and Australian winger Graham Mackay.
