Countdown clock?

Apologies in advance if this isn't where i should be asking this (i figure it's the most read section of the forum so...) and also if it's already been mentioned (i have next to no time at work to play on here ), but what's that countdown clock on the top left corner about?  4314 Days?!

Dan, I was at home using Google Chrome...
At work now on IE7 and i can't see it. 

That was bizarre, i was starting to think i was seeing things and you guys would think i'm even more weird than usual.  carry on sirs!

yeah it looks like chrome and safari were ignoring comment tags around javascript calls
