On 21 January 2013 The Daily Telegraph reported that the General Manager of the Manly Sea Eagles, David Perry, poorly handled inquiries by the Gold Coast Titans in relation to the availability of star player Jamie Lyon for the 2013 season. The Daily Telegraph accepts that David Perry made it clear at all times that the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles would not release Jamie Lyon for the 2013 season and that David Perry did not poorly handle the Titan's inquiry. The Daily Telegraph apologises to David Perry for any hurt or embarrassment that he may have suffered as a result of the publication.

Whereabouts in the rag did they bury this ?? In amongst the escort classifieds ?? I bet it wasn't on the back page with a screaming headline saying "We were wrong"

Surprise surprise surprise.
Who wrote these lies Fool Rothtool

It wasn't just "reported" on 21 January but 24/7 every day since by still being on the web, and not just the Telegraph. Worse, it will continue to be "reported" until those sites carrying the story pull it down, if they ever do.

Indeed. And that is what a retraction is for.

I wonder if the tele is just playing games and if a retraction was requested as part of the apology process.

I would have thought nowadays that a retraction would include pulling the story from all the publisher's websites.

Before the internet the story would have been chip wrapping the next day & soon forgotten. Now it stays there for all to see 24/7 for evermore.

I can't see how on one hand you get an apology, but the story can stay up there on the web as well.

On 21 January 2013 The Daily Telegraph printed a blatant lie that stated the General Manager of the Manly Sea Eagles, David Perry, poorly handled inquiries by the Gold Coast Titans in relation to the availability of star player Jamie Lyon for the 2013 season. The Daily Telegraph accepts that 99% of the stories that come out of our rag are complete bull****.
The Daily Telegraph apologises to David Perry for any hurt or embarrassment that he may have suffered as a result of the publication and hopes he's not going to sue the arse off us which is what we deserve.
We apologise for masquerading as a serious publication and suggest you've got more chance of getting reliable news from a ****house wall.

The only articles I've seen on Manly at semi final time is the AVO by Zorba. it's just pathetic how much we are ignored at the moment. Stick it up them Manly make them have to write about our football team by trampling the dusters.
