Daniel Vidot?

Smokin Joe

Bencher
Big guy has been released by Titans, could be worth a train and trial or minimum contract for a year, plays a lot like Taufua and at worst a decent backup.Obviously had some issues since back at Titans but whether that is just point of difference with Henry or injuries who knows...Runs hard as and a really good finisher(similar weaknesses to Jorge too under the high ball and hands),just needs a good preseason to get in shape.Anyone seen him play this year for the Titans or their QRL cup side?

There is little risk with a train and trial contract...he does make Taufua look safe under the high ball though.

sounds good too me.. he's a unit and on the right coin would be an asset no doubt. anyone is better than Wright

Much like Foran,Vidot hasn't played a decent game in 3 yrs and is injury prone.Eels will be chasing him though

Just been looking at Intrust for Burleigh and up to round 20 was a regular and some good numbers at a glance.Scored quite a few tries and making some serious metres each game, some 250 metre games and 170 plus each week, but had a couple of quiet ones at 120 metres. Not a lot of missed tackles so looked like he was going ok until maybe injured....Worth a shot I reckon...

Still rather tafua. He was having a great year. Really miss his charges running out of our red zone.

Any news on korobeti? Does he still want to return to the nrl. He would be awesome

Probably not a good sign when he has apparently been overlooked for a spot in the Titans line up and considering some of their back line injury woes this season but he certainly is a big body these days . Manly even seem reluctant to re sign Jorge at the present time for what ever reason and if Kelly maintains his improved form , Brad Parker may be then favored for one wing position next season . In any case it would seem more recommended to maybe consider and encourage guys like Andersen and Schuster for depth wing positions for the immediate future also .

The old saying of there are many ways to skin a cat are true of there are many ways to play the game of footy. We played Jorge and relied on him and sacrificed hard yards from the edge backrowers, when Jorge got injured we struggled without massive efforts from 8/10/13.(Lawrence in particular struggled in my opinion). If you are going to sacrifice metres from the wing then you need to compensate with metres from the edge which we struggled to do until last weekend and that is hard to do on a regular basis with Frank and Siro there for a full season. We need in my opinion to keep looking for options to help gain metres from the backs and I hope Jorge is our first option(Vidot is a depth option on the cheap who you can use at your discretion depending on how injuries go through the year). It is the same as having different options on the edge for our backrowers,(some defenders and minimal hard yards guys combined with some more direct runners).More options give us different ways to combat changes/injuries and different teams we play during the year.Having only one way to play limits our ability to get through a season as well as making us predictable.Train and trial as well as a possible 60k development contract is low risk,at the least Workers can spend the cash as they will have plenty to spend after this year....as long as he is on the books somewhere he could be a useful addition.
