DCE Chip and Chase

I just wanted to say I thought DCE's chip and chase was a superb addition to his already impressive repertoire. It just adds that little bit of extra doubt in the defensive line and the fullback about DCE's capabilities.

He is certainly not the finished product, but the difference between him (and Foz) and the two Roosters halves was very apparent.

The chip and chase and the grubber behind the line are things that he will work on with Joey at training and in a year or so he will perfect them.

DCE is the real deal, getting better and stronger and learning so much.

We owe our forwards a lot of credit cause they give he and Foz the platform to dominate.

Absolutely!! Cannot show off halves skills behind a beaten forward pack. All they need to do is hold their own, but they are doing far better than that.

It was classy for sure and just a pity he didn't get the bounce. Really wish we'd jagged another try or two to just show our dominance, and give the Chooks less to whinge about.

Still a few errors and rough edges in Cherry's game, but you would think he can only get better, and I hope we can keep him ( and Foz )
long-term.

Yeah, Phil was a specialist at it and it was a weekly event He was doing it in Under 23s as well. Just a natural part of his game.

Dale Shearer and Cliffy also used it often.

Phil Blake was my favourite player when I was a kid. His kick and chases were just unbelievable. He was an extraordinary talent.

100% not only the best Manly player to do it but will be up there for the best player to ever do it..

Phil Blake is the ONLY reason i became a Manly supporter , watching him at the age of 5 , he sealed it for me !!!!

unfortunately , there is not enough of the " chip & chase " in the game its been like that for a while now.

Great skill in the game , and when it pulls off with a support player 90% of the time a try will be scored..

LOL at Danny Moore. He tried a couple of classics, one in an origin from memory. Not one of the better exponents of the art.

Rambo Gibbs had a famous one against Souths.

Of course there is only one Chip and Chase legend and that is Phil Blake. That's what spawned my forum name, as a kid I was always Phil Blake in the backyard footy games.....the chip and chase king...hence the avatar. That 83 season was a cracker, he still holds the season try scoring record for Manly as far as I know. Loved watching him play.

Seriously there is only one name sinonymous with the chip and chase and that is Jamie oljenik...sorry phil Blake. First bloke I ever saw do one (born 79) from memory.
