I too laugh , if I had a $1 for every time our “ lack of a decent hooker “ has been mentioned on here I’d be a millionaire.

Sure this kids not “ Harry Grant “ ( yet) but at 20 he has heaps of potential.

I’ll be stoked if we get him.

Harry Grant is reportedly on nearly $1 million a year, and the Storm haven't won a premiership with him (yet).

We had Api for 4 years, and in that time, we reached Week 2 of the finals once. He's separately been in 4 Grand Finals, won 3 of them, and also won two wooden spoons.

Until we get some more forwards who will draw or scatter defenders and generate quicker play-the-balls (this usually means we will have to open the cheque book), then the rest of the team will face the same problems regardless of who the hooker is.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, it's an erroneous assertion.

The money thrown at TDS at the last minute by the eels was ridiculous.

It is a huge deal and I mean staggering in dollar terms.

They threw everything to land him and they have.

Good luck to them.

If Croker gets picked again as starting 9 over Simpkins then any doubts about Siebold being a fool will be gone.
And he is worse as a 14 as offers zero in terms of impact.
Don’t think Simpkins is the absolute answer either but at least he is a hooker and he shows improvement.
Tuesday will tell us a lot about the coach ( if Croker is fit )

This. Simpkins is an actual hooker. Will he ever be the world's best hooker? Probably not, but he puts in, has shown an ability to learn and improve, and the team looks better when he is out there. The position has to be his for the rest of the season.
