You forgot Robinson who has won 3 premierships since 2013.

But yes, Des will always fondly be looked upon with his 2 premierships and the famous 40 nil !!

Bit rough mate, when u have a Shi***ttt team u can't do much. Also how many coaches have won Sh###Ttt for us???? He's won 2 Premiership out of 8 + Penn bull**** didn't help. To some of us he's a Legend but not to some oh well can't win them all. Yep, Robinson won those comps for the Roosters. Not the refs, Politis' money, or the roster where prime TKO was apparently earning $200k under the cap... Lol!!!

Robinson is also the same man, who looked hopeless at coaching their attack in recent years, until a bottom-four coach in Holbrook arrived.

Compare it to Des. We had some great, skilful players, but only a few of them were naturally world-class. He won those premierships on coaching those players into who they became. There's no 2008 and 2011 without Des. We were beating world-class systems that had institutional cheating, by 40-0 in Grand Finals, whilst our players were getting changed out of the boots of their cars in Narrabeen.

That's a much greater feat than Robinson will ever achieve. Yet no one in the media will drum on about us, and what we did, often because they were the ones on the other side of those scorelines.

Forgive me for forgetting his precious premierships, they genuinely mean nothing to me.

I think there is a great story to tell in some depth from when manly split from the bears, and dessie slowly but surely built that team through the years with astute acquisition of a few top line players, those that he nurtured into top line players, and those bought in that were never going to be more than they were, yet played their role as importantly as anyone else, up to the day 40-0 occurred. It was a rags to riches story never to be forgotten.
