Was watching the club again tonight, and they were talking about the Matai re signing and Lowe held up a jumbo pen that a fan had sent in and they had a laugh about it

Lowe held it up and said something along the lines of "A big pen because the fans want some big signatures"

His focus should be less on his performance in "The Club", but what actually happens at the real LIFE club. Sorry Kiwi. I'd prefer he focus less on being an actor, and more on the job at hand.

After yesterday's debacle, I was starting to wonder if it was a blessing in disguise that we haven't found the pen for Matai's contract. Was the first time that I've conceded that the bloke is a liability. The loading on his penalty was through the roof and the next time he does it (which seems inevitable, doesn't it?) it will be even worse.

At this stage we'll be missing him for the first five rounds of next year (week one of finals + one trial match).

When I think about it more, I remember how much he brings our team when he is on song. But good god....with a young fella like Whare there, we have (in my opinion) two very good centres plus one very talented young centre and two talented young halves. I feel more confident in Whare/Foran/Daly playing a full season than I do Matai. You'd save a good 150k on Whare as well.

Matai's been among my favourite players for the past three or so years, longer really, but yesterday's cheap shot (and more to the point, stupid shot) has nearly tipped me over the edge into the ever-growing group of anti-Matai fans. I think he's still got me on board for the moment, but f*ck I wish he'd think a little bit more sometimes....

You know the fans are a high priority-just look at the "home" games away.2 at Bluetongue now.Those may go to NZ,Brisbane,and or Papua NG.

Guys it was mine...I sent it to Graham with a note that said big signings need a big pen......he emailed me back and said he hoped to put it to good use soon.

I posted way back in July that the TV station hold the rights but that the Sea Eagles were negotiating with them to be able to show the series - no dramas until then if you let the good people of Maori TV service you Mata you will still be able to watch it
