ROOSTER SET TO JOIN MANLY

Manly have moved quickly to replace departing hooker Jazz Tevaga, with the Northern Beaches club expected to offer Roosters utility Zach Dockar-Clay a two-year deal by the end of this week.

Dockar-Clay played 16 games for the Roosters this year, but has struggled for regular game time after the club’s round 21 loss to the Storm.

The 30-year-old is expected to either start at hooker for Manly or play as a utility off the bench, with Dockar-Clay no stranger to the halves either.

Tevaga played his last game for Manly just days ago before heading to the Super League to join Wakefield Trinity.

They are moving swiftly on from Jake Turpin's rejection - offering Roosters utility Zach Dockar-Clay a two-year deal to join the club.

The signing is to replace Jazz Tevaga who left for Super League.

Absolute bust of a signing , even as an idea....why not aim for a youngster with upside and potential and even if they fell short, I would prefer that than to bring back a player who has reached his below par limits and will only drop off more and what's this start as hooker stuff, he couldn't break into Manly last time at the club and Simpkin has been a step up at 9 from anyone else in a long time, so he is way off from what Iv'e seen....actually I can't even take this as a serious option, I feel it's gotta be some sick stitchup

Good pickup in my opinion, minimum wage, and offers good hooker, halves, and lock cover. Possibly in the first choice 17, depending on how cooked Croker is.

I don't think Seibold's problem is with these sorts of players either, it's with senior players and star talent. I think the club might be picking Seibold over Turbo, and that's crossing the line for me. Letting Turbo walk to keep Seibold as head coach is bat **** crazy.

Personally for mine you you have a player who debuted in NSW Cup in 2015 and has played 36 first grade games since. Of those 36, 2 NRL starts.

2 NRL starts in over a 10 year professional career.

Now have this year been his best, yeah I'd say so. Would he be servicable as a third string hooker replacing Gordie...probably.

But does he have any upside? Will he improve? And most importantly does the squad look any better with him in it?

I'd say no to all 3.

Simpkin is our current hooker and is going okay , but we of course need a backup.

We’ve lost Jazz & Gordie so the ranks are a bit thin.
