Rose has been a major weapon of the bench in coach Des Hasler's arsenal

The 26-year-old Bathurst junior has been among Manly’s best over the past two months in their surge towards the NRL finals.
Bullocking runs, energetic defence and a simple desire to make his presence felt have made Rose a constant in coach Des Hasler’s squad this year.
On Friday night at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, Rose will end a two-year finals wait when he comes off the Sea Eagles bench as Hasler’s men start their journey towards successive NRL crowns when they face the Storm.
The game is a significant achievement in Rose’s career, which appeared over after he suffered a shocking broken ankle against the Storm at Brookvale Oval in May, 2007.
“Given what he’s come through and where he’s been, for George, it’s a milestone in his life,” Hasler said on Wednesday of Rose’s form throughout 2009.
“He’s worked really hard.
“He’s had his obstacles early in his career, but he’s overcome all those things and he’s now making an impact.
“He’s playing some great footy.”
And it’s contagious among the rest of the gang at Narrabeen headquarters.
Manly skipper Matt Orford said Rose’s outstanding form in recent weeks is rubbing off on his mates.
“It’s been a great comeback from George,” Orford said about Rose’s return this season.
“Every single player knew the ability big George had.
“He had some real bad luck, but he’s just making the most of the opportunity he’s been given.
“Every time he comes on the field, the crowd roars and he always seems to lift us.
“He’s playing really well and really enjoying his football and it’s showing.”
The Sea Eagles will fly to Melbourne on Thursday morning ahead of Friday night’s clash with their fierce rivals.
Hasler said he will give star back Jamie Lyon every hope of playing.
“We’ll give him right up until game day,” the coach said.
