Favourite 3 all time non Manly?

Favourite 3 current non Manly?

And why?

Be interesting to see the different opinions.

All time non Manly - Joey, Freddy, Brad Clyde. Freaks, All of them.

Current - Gallen, Hayne, Cronk.

Gallen is not human surely. Hayne on his day rivals killer as the best back on earth.

Cronk is the most driven bloke in the NRL seems like he lacked natural ability but got where he was due to nothing but hard work. Inspirational. He also is not as grubby as the others in his team.

Favourite all time: Fulton, Beaver, Wombat
Favourite current: Snake, DCE, Lyon

Reasons: The first three are legends; the second three will be

Non-Manly all time: Preston Campbell, Petro, Larry Corowa, Les Johns
Non Manly current: Cronk, Bowen Beau Ryan

I always liked Brett Kenny when I was a kid. Thought he was one of the most naturally gifted footballers getting around. In more recent times I've always had a soft spot for Rueben Wiki, for his longevity and also he seemed like a real humble and down to earth guy. Plus you got to respect someone who moves from the centres to prop.

Another player who never got the wraps of others, but who I thought was a very good footballer was Steve Carter from Penrith.

Past - Darren Lockyer, Brad Fittler and Andrew Johns

Current - Billy Slater, Jarryd Hayne and SBW (Provided he still has the skills)

Lockyer - in same mould as Steve Menzies, in that he didn't need to resort to "grub like" tactics to get the job done. Let his footy do the talking. Only blight in his career was his Raper joke, after the infamous Bulldogs, Coffs Harbour trip.

Freddy - loved him as a player. Was one of my favs when he was playing.

Cant come up with a 3rd at the moment that I can put in the same league as these two.

Current - Gallen is a machine & as has been said previously, he'd look great in Maroon & White.

Slater - not for the person - but purely footballing ability.

Again, am struggling to come up with a 3rd at the moment.

3 all time non Manly:
Steve Edmed. Just liked saying his name
Tim Brasher. Had a sweet mullet and ran hard
Brad Clyde. Probably started the 'modern day' loose forward prototype

3 current non Manly:
Gallen. Hard prick
Farah. The last few years he has really grown on me. Big ticker
Hayne. Freaky skills every now and then

Favourite 3 all time non Manly? Beetson, Webke, Cronin

Favourite 3 current non Manly? Matt Scott, Gallen, Luke Lewis

non manly: 1) Garry Jack (fav all time non manly player - got me into league).

2) Andrew Johns.

3) Probably Clyde. Actually you could probably run through a whole list of names and I'd go....oh yeah....him!

current non Manly: *washes mouth out with soap*
1) Gallen
2) Marshall
3) James Tamou

Bob Fulton - started following Manly the year before he came but could never follow another team after seeing him play
Beaver - just played his attack, defence, commitment and character
John Gibbs - those first first years were unbelievable, even in reserves

non manly Beetson, steve Rogers ok his attack was brilliant and I never ever saw him miss a tackle - saw him play live probably 20 times, for what ever reason Rod Wishart

Ahhh - Rod Wishart - thanks Southsideeagle - there's my third.
Had a beer with Rod at Lismore RSL many moons ago. When he was still playing. Top bloke.
My missus still bangs on about his great thighs.

Past Manly.
1) Bob Fulton, greatest player I have seen.
2) Terry Randall, hardest tackler I have seen.
3) Graham Eadie, sensational fullback.

Current Manly.
1) Brett Stewart, right up with Eadie.
2) Anthony Watmough, great heart, great player.
3) Jamie Lyon, fantastic player, would partner Fulton in the centres in an all time great side.

Past others.
1) Ron Coote, close to the best backrower I have seen.
2) Steve Rogers, terrific player.
3) Arthur Beetson, dominated a game more than anyone I've seen except possibly Fulton.

Current -

Gallen
Bowen
Mason (weird I know)

Past -
Kenny (should be an immortal)
Fitter
Hanley

And in the ESL

Sinfeld
Charnley (think he'll be better than S.Tomkins)

What about Alan Woodhead, doesn't he rate?

I'll explain the Allan Woodhead thing for those playing at home.
During the WCC last year we met this bloke at a pub that is a Leeds supporter that claimed he played for them in the 70s.
His whole family were at this and he stuck around whilst we took over the pub in true mwts fashion and got up to the traditional drinking of adult soft drinks.
Great time was had by all and was a highlight of the whole adventure

Former players:
Geoff Robinson
Wally Lewis
Nathan Hindmarsh

Current players:
Paul Gallen
Anthony Minichiello
Luke Lewis
